That's crazy. Maybe it was just my luck that day. Who knows. I'll forever have that experience in my head and doubt I'll ever find another dealership to give me that experience again

I bought my E92 out of state and the guy put the wrong region Nav CD in. At the time I was living on the western half of the US and he put in the eastern half. Was not happy. Reason I wasn't happy is because I specially saw it was for the eastern half of US and he agreed to get me a new Nav CD for free ($300 disk!) and I had to bitch with the salesman over the phone and I did finally get my disk (both regions!) for free, about a month later. I wasn't about to buy one....no way!

I'm not sure if most people just walk in the door and say "Oh the sticker says $44,000... HERE YA GO!" But the manager got VERY annoyed with me because I knew what I was willing to pay, and wouldn't budge.

I was trading in an Infiniti g37s, had cash for a down payment, plenty of things for them to play with the numbers. But the guy was unreasonable. I gave him a figure I wanted to be under for monthly payments, and he came back with LITERALLY 1 dollar less than that figure. I grabbed the keys to my G and said, I don't need a new car, and have no problem going home. All told it took my gf and I about 5-6 hours before the deal was signed.
I HATE it when the salesman has to go to the manager. They go hide in this room and discuss how they can screw you and talk shit. Seen it too many times. $1 less is an insult when they could easily come down to not make it look so suspicious. Sometimes I feel that car salesmen and mangers feel like they are God or something. It's a freaking car not a house and they make it this big ordeal because they care more about the mighty dollar then offering great customer service with a decent deal. Yes they need to make money but the salesman and manager are NOT the company owners. They sure do act like it sometimes.

I spoke to a service writer at my local dealer and he offered to run the codes for me for free and hopefully tell me the miles of original time the code was thrown. If it proves that this was an issue when they had the car then I am really going to raise some hell!
Yeah I would fight for sure. If all fails know there are gear rebuild kits on ebay for $99. So if you're handy with some tools and have a weekend to spare you can knock those out yourself I'm sure.

I ended up ebaying an actuator for $117 shipped!? The guy said it came off a totaled 09 E92 with a supposedly relatively new engine. I figured for $100 it's worth the gamble bc I could always rebuild it for another $100 as you mentioned. The part just came in and knock on wood but it looks to be in really good shape! I will update after I swap it in. The guy I got it from is selling ignition coils for $25/ and both throttle bodies, selling for $500 each. He had some other stuff but it looks like it's gone now.

Went to my local BMW in SD in 2013 and as I walked in the lot and in to the show room I was not even greeted or approached. I then noticed a staff at the desk and he didn't appear busy or with any customer. As I approached him I introduced my self and informed him that I'm in the market for a high performance car in the price range between $75-$125k. I asked if I can test drive an ///M3 E92 to see how it compares to other high performance car near that price. To my dismay, the dip-shit tells me "We only offer test drive to serious buyer." At this point I'm like WTF moment! Is this mofo oblivious to what I said earlier about seeking a high performance car between $75-$125k car??!! Does this dip-shit even know I have a near 850 credit score and the cash to buy one out right??!! This fukker was so unmotivated to the point where he doesn't even bother to ask me any info regarding finances or what I do for a living??!!

Needless to say, I went further south to BMW of El Cajon and what a complete 180 when it comes to customer service. The place greets and welcome you with a "Sir.!" Place my order and took off $4k from msrp sticker. What a smooth and painless transaction the way BMW should be.

What I should have done is return to SD BMW and call that dip-shit out and ask him "How serious am I now?" Hey for what it's worth I left a negative review on Yelp. Their customer service rep responded to my review and asked me to give them a second chance and I'm like GTF outta here. I will never ever give SD BMW my business or recommend anyone.

Sorry to hear you had a shitty experience at a BMW dealership. I'm trying to figure out what they were expecting from you! A 3 piece suit throwing $100's around as you walked in? People forget that they are car salesmen not the dealership owner. Especially the front desk person who probably makes $12 an hour has the nerve to tell you what he did. Because of my great experience I hold dealerships to that level of customer service now and just walk away if I need to....thank god for online reviews!
