E92 headlight dew
One thing that drives me nuts about my M3 is the permanent dew inside of my headlights. No idea what it's from, but I know I've had the same problem with 3 other BMW's in the past as the mileage went up.
Does anyone have any suggestions for how to remove the dew, make the headlights looks brand new, without having to replace? Thanks in advance.

Your headlight housing is leaking somewhere.
I would first check if the top access cover is seated and sealed properly. Second see if u can find any cracks or damage to the headlight which may let water in. To remove moisture inside: Remove top access cover and let the moisture air out, luckily L.A. weather is in the 90*F+ for the next week or so, park headlight in the sun for 3 days~. it should remove most the dew. The top cover has a foam seal on it, check that it is not damaged. WARNING: DO NOT WASH CAR WITH HEADLIGHT COVER REMOVED! Leaving the cover off will also let dust and other foreign matter in. So best to not leave it off for far too long. Last edited by volkrays; 07-09-2014 at 06:51 AM.. |
