BMS Downpipe fix, anyone use it?

http://burgertuning.com/dpfix.html

Seems like a lot of 3 series guys use these (although the latest JB4 comes with it built in so it's not necessary). Does anyone know how it works? Is it an O2 simulator (so cats and o2 sensor readiness is correct) or does it simply eliminate the CEL that the tunes get rid of? Seems easy enough to install. Thoughts?

I used it on my E92 back when and it worked fine. There shouldn't be a issue with a e90 and e92, same stuff minus the extra door lol

Just installed it on Saturday with my ACM TP, so far so good!

I was kinda scared to do the installation but when I start it was pretty simple and straight forward.

It looks like the ESS tune simulates readiness which would also accomplish this goal. Anyone willing to speak on behalf of ESS?

No, that's false. Roman did answer this some time ago on another thread:

This is intentionally breaking the law and deceiving customers to sell product. Having a product that does not pass emission, is designed to fail emissions when tested and is sold as not being emissions legal on the other hand is a different story. If anyone cannot see the difference or chooses to ignore it then that is on them.

There are only a handful of tuners in the world that understand and can build software on modern BMW's from scratch. One of them happens to work for us and has been tuning BMW's for 16 years. None of the others have yet to post here so I will take my absence from a thread that has very little value to most readers at this point. Good luck on your experiments.
The ESS tune will simply keep the high emissions code from illuminating, essentially firewalling the code from the system (from code scans and displaying on iDrive/gauge cluster).

Worked fine for me, I had to "turn up" the trimpot to about 2 o'clock, which was quite a bit higher than the instructions recommended as a starting point.

Ummm the M3 doesn't have down pipes.

Pretty sure people get a tune to suppress primary cat related CEL.

Burger made one for the S65, but apparently stopped selling it. Not sure why. I have one on my car. Seems to work fine.

+2. Had to turn the trimpot to 2 o'clock but worked great for me until I got a tune.

I have one for our N54 but have not used it yet. Would be neat if it worked for the S65 as well. Too bad.
