Money is always going to be an issue for most; only difference is how much of an issue . And for those that it's less of an issue, other than a few egomaniacs that have to mention their Ferraris, etc on every freaking thread no matter the subject (most likely not self-made <married into money, inheritance, etc), most won't say anything.

saw the RS5 in the Audi Forum at Munich Airport..
it had 20" wheels....are they a standard feature? I really like the RS5....the only problem is that in general,I'd prefer BMW over Audi |

Wow... After all the M3 indeed faired better versus the RS5!! One way or another it is an amasing car in its own right, but being faster, more fun to drive, AND more economical than the new RS5 which is launched 2.5 years later proves that BMW have really delivered an amasing package!!!
I really think that the E92 M3 DCT will be in the history book as one of the greatest all round cars of all times, embodying one of the last naturally aspirated engines for quite some time to come (if ever again). The S65 is a marvel, as is the entire M3 package! On a side qn, does anyone know what kind of options the test M3 had? I am curious to see how heavily / lightly optioned is a 1,640kg E92 M3 DCT. |

1,640kg for a pretty loaded E92 with DCT (which adds 25kg over the 6MT if I recall correctly) is not a bad curb weight at all!!! Last edited by gr8000; 06-19-2010 at 10:23 AM.. |

Audi fails at catch up once again
Sure, I find the RS5 to be one of the more attractive Audi's on their lineup... but thats not all there is to a car. I hate the "Numb" driving feeling that almost all Audis have. I cant wait to watch a C/D review with these two featured cars... |

My next car must have 4wd for skiing, etc. so I may just pick up a used RS4 and save myself some coin. I can't believe Audi failed... Don't they test in house before finishing products?! There was no room for the RS5 to perform worse than the M3 given its time to market and premium in price. I almost feel bad!

Given the time Audi had and the bar set by BMW I would have expected them to be closer. In many specific contests the Audi really got tromped. It is still a gorgeous car and seems to be wonderful driving at 8 10ths but just can touch the M at 9 or 10 10ths.
