Hood Struts
My mistake...your gain! I thought there was only 1/ea per order but there were 2 in each box. Ordered from Amazon - BOXI hood struts. $15 shipped, buyer pays PayPal fees. This is the Amazon link: Amazon.com: BOXI 2pcs Front Hood Lift Supports Shocks for 2006-2013 BMW 3 Series E90 E91 E92 E93 Hood 51237060550,SG402058: Automotive

You know what...that was just the first time I lifted the hood. After that initial attempt, it lifts slow and smooth. It is when you lower it - you have to exert more effort than OEM. But this replacement ain't bad at all.
