Pulled the trigger ...

Hi Folks,

I pulled the trigger on a 2012 Melbourne Red E92 M3, DCT, ZCP, Black Novillo Leather, Carbon Leather Interior Trim, Navigation. $500 above invoice.

How long does it take from when I signed the papers to being given an allocation slot? And how much time after does that does the car typically take to get delivered.

My dealer is saying 2-3 weeks for an allocation ...

Thanks!

Tons of info here:

Generally it should be a few weeks to get an allocation and to enter production. Then a week for actual production. Then 4-8 weeks for transport and delivery (depends on train/ship schedules and where you are located). Then a week for VPC and dealer prep. So all told, you're looking at about 2 months or more. If there's some damage during shipping, it will have to be repaired at the VPC and may take additional time.

The ordering and tracking forum is the place to hang out and vent your wait frustration:

2018 Audi RS5  [0.00]
I had a MR M3 before I sold or for the le mans blue
I saw one the other day, I still think MR is the nicest colour
The contrast between the red and black trim is excellent

Not sure of your budget
But I'd add the enhanced audio
Ive had both and the EA is pretty good
HIFI ain't

I had initially placed an order for MR, then got second thoughts. I then went over to a local dealership after it was closed, and walked around in the parking lot. I spotted a MR F30 328i sitting, and the color was really stunning - so I am sticking with my choice for now

About EA - thought about it ... but considering the fact that I rarely listen to audio in the car (strange I know), it won't be of much help to me. And I also dislike loud music
I'd just listen to the V8 ...

Congrats on the recent purchase, I am heading out to Munich on Thursday to pick my MR from the Welt. Looks like we have similar builds. Good luck on the wait, placed my order back in December, and the wait has been killing me.....

Congrats. I started with MR but eventually switched to SG because I couldnt bear the thought of another sea of black interior and didn't like the other options. I love the MR though, pictures don't do it justice and it seems to me it suits the M3 perfectly. Enjoy.

I don't think this is an out-of-ordinary deal. I think its the max one must be willing to pay on an M3. I actually wanted to buy this beast at invoice. If you pick up a car from the lot, you can also get $1000 spring cash offer, thus putting you $500 *below* invoice.

I did a quick search for "M3 Invoice" and came up with all kinds of different numbers. What did you pay if you don't mind me asking (PM if necessary).

Please PM me an email where I can attach a PDF and I'll send you the definitive invoice document for all parts and packages available for the M3.

Gread job with the MR choice. Doesn't seem to be many out there - One of the best colors IMO. I wish they offered Sparkling Graphite Metallic as well - beautiful.

Thanks everyone.

What strikes me is how reasonably unremarkable the MR looks in average photos, but how stunning it looks in real life. I spent a bunch of time looking at various photos online, then got second thoughts about MR. I then thought I should go to the dealership and check out the color. And wow ... the damn thing is a screamer. Superb color, looks very shiny and awesome with the CF roof and black contrasting interiors. Its like insane eye candy ...
