Combox Upgrade question

I have a 2011 M3 made in 09/10. It's equipped with navigation and bluetooth phone but not media. A friend of mine has a 2013 M3 that he's completely gutting out and he's given me his combox that supports Bluetooth media. Can I add his combox to my car without any issues? Is there any way to make sure that his combox is compatible with my car?

There are pin changes. Your car will likely have 2 devices to remove in place of his 1 combox. The pins for both your current devices will have to be consolidated into 1 plug properly along with coding and a MOST terminator for the 1 remaining MOST connector left alone.
