Is there any way to connect my laptop to the original CIC module for coding besides removing the quad lock adapter behind the OEM radio?
It was a nightmare to get that pushed in when I installed the Mr12Volt unit and I don't think I would be able to get it back in again. |

On my android phone, I go to the Bluetooth settings for mr12volt connection, and uncheck use for phone calls / call audio. Not sure how it works for Apple.

Having some issues after installing my unit. I did code via BimmerCode the necessary item. I see CD1 but after I click it I just see Mr12volt with unknown album. Anyone see this and can provide guidance? Thanks

Would love to hear more about your backup camera install. I simply cannot figure out how to stabilize this thing for the life of me. I've tried everything, my connections are solid, everything is wired properly, but it just will not work with 100% reliability. Even though I have a DCT car I'm considering wiring it like a manual to get stable 12v power to the unit but I can't find a proper guide for how to do so. I'd be eternally grateful for a thorough write up!

Honestly, routing the cables was much less of a nightmare than I thought it would be. I wouldn’t worry too much about it. I absolutely would watch the bimmertech video and use that large zip tie trick they show. That made it a million times easier.

Maybe a dumb question, but what's the difference between the OEM MIC port and the Mic (Optional) port?
The reason I ask is because I just installed the Mr12Volt unit today and everything is working except for the OEM mic port; using that port it doesn't pick up any sound at all. When I plug into the Mic (Optional) port, the factory mic seems to pick up my voice just fine... N.B. - I have an E93 so I put the provided mic splitter in the steering column as I've seen others do. |

Is there any way to have Mr12Volt turn off whenever i start the car and only have it turn on when I press the mode or CD button?
Asking this because even after returning my previous P2000 unit for a new one it’s still making that dreadful high pitch ringing noise most of the time when i turn the car on. Even handed the car to Malek at MRF to find any broken wiring or loose ground but he found nothing wrong. Switched out all the wiring that comes with the unit to new ones, also to no avail. Seems like the Mr12Volt units just has a problem with my car and a few others on this forums car. Figured life would be easier to just turn on the mr12volt unit whenever I want to use it rather than getting my ears pierced whenever i turn on the car. |

Could use some help with wiring up my backup camera.
So I got everything installed this morning and when I put the car in reverse, nothing happens. My car is a manual without PDC so I wired my GreenYi camera like the following In the trunk area: 1. RCA jack male and female connected together 2. Red positive wire connected to yellow wire coming out of RCA jack 3. Black ground wire not connected to anything (saw a few posts that people just electric tapped this off and didn't connect it to anything, but if this is wrong, please let me know). 4. Extra wire tapped into reverse light via a Positap (black wire with blue stripe in the middle of the harness) Ran the other end of the RCA jack male connector and the reverse light tap wire to the front of the car where the Mr12Volt unit is I then wired accordingly: 1. RCA male to female (rear camera video) 2. Yellow wire from RCA male connector to red rear 12 volt trigger wire 3. Reverse light tap wire connected to reverse state light green wire In the Mr12Volt settings I set the camera as Aftermarket 360 and Reverse Condition as "Reverse State" yet when I put it in reverse nothing happens. I probably need to pull out the multimeter to start testing if these wires are getting power. Any testing or advice folks can give me would be appreciated!

Can someone help me diagnose please? I had to reset my airbag light and had some codes as well from the CIC presumably because of the MR12Volt system. I just quick erased all the codes, but now the Mr12volt pre-CarPlay menu doesn’t come up on the screen. The WiFi and Bluetooth connect as usual, though no sound is either.
I looked and my BimmerCode shows the correct expert coded option. Any suggestions? |

The reliability of the camera is only average from what my short testing has seen. Few times I’ve put it into reverse it wouldn’t trigger but then on the next attempt it would. I did end up grounding the black wire just to see if that would help. Well see if the relay ends up being the best option and I switch over to that eventually…

I’ve had my Mr12volt in place for a couple of years. I’m on the second unit now with DSP. Modified with a good M logo on boot and custom car icon. No issues with the unit other than the microphone and holding onto the phone.
It is really really annoying when the unit doesn’t let power off. My iPhone continually connects to it. Really annoyingly when it connects and you override to AirPods. The quality is reduced. Meaning I have to get out of range of the car. Does anyone have a working solution to stop the unit being so aggressive? My second issue is the microphone. I placed the microphone in the overhead area next to the original. But the sound is terrible. I’m considering upgrading to the newer unit. However it’s a big upgrade for just the microphone. Does the microphone unit work as well as the built in microphone? |

Just a follow on to my initial question. After coding out the CD changer using BimmerCode I no longer seem to be getting the CD1 to appear so the CIC system doesn’t seem to be booting into the Mr12volt system. I know everything is connected right because everything worked until yesterday for the better part of a year.

Thanks so much for responding. We are talking about. A 15 minute difference in time between everything working as normal, all codes being reset by an Autel tool and then it not working. I can’t imagine I am that unlucky that something disconnected while the codes were being reset. Thanks again!
