Do you think BMW would give me Olive Ash Wood trim if I asked them?

I'm leaning towards a "friendly" email telling me that "sadly" they could not provide me with a Olive Ash Wood trim for a M3 if I ordered it because of bullshit reason 1, 2, and 3.

But what do you guys think?

If I called/emailed/contacted BMW and asked for Olive Ash Wood trim do you think they'd give it to me? (not that big of a deal, it is just not offered as the basic options I think 5 series has it, and I know all the 6es have it)

Now I know they are mass produced cars but I'm not buying a cheap car here. They aren't like camrys or altimas, where thousands are sold everyday. I think BMW would even be proud to add it in for me (at least the nuts at M division would be )
I might get the car next year or so, but this was lingering on my mind. Thanks for the ideas.

Never hurts to ask but my guess they will say no.

Do they even make Olive Ash wood trim for the M3 to even buy as an accessory? If thats the case you MIGHT be able to get the dealer to throw in as part of a deal. Still doubt it.

even if you get it (as some sort of bmw individual trim), be prepared to pay some $$$$

No it isn't in the list of options.

I did some looking around and so far it seems that the only cars that have it are the M5 and M6.

But it isn't that big of a deal, it isn't like some kinda rare wood that is almost extinct. It's ash.

Look

Not a chance, these cars are MASS PRODUCED, not like a RR or Bentley.

It would cost BMW a lot (more than they would make) to make one copy to fit the M3.

They would have to custom make it to fit and have it arrive at the right and precise time to have it installed in your vehicle when all the other interior installations is occuring without impeding thier manufacturing of other vehicles. A very expensive process! You would be better off custom ordering it yourself now if at all possible to have it ready to install when your car arrives. Sometimes we get carried away with our ability to pay for these nice expensive tools without considering the ramifications of what might seem like a simple/spoiled request.

werid question
is the trim in the normal 3-er and the M cars the same???
I love the grey poplar trim in the normal 3-er but i HATE the sycamore in the M3, so I ended up with carbon leather..but dying for grey polar.

I would guess BMW would say no, even if they do will cost alot of $$ to make one for the M3.

Maybe look into installing aftermarket?

They have em on the M5 and M6... it's a shame they don't have it on the M3 though

It was worth a try.

I think the only part that is different is the center console piece because of the DSC/Power/EDC buttons.

I dont think they make the trim for E9x's, so there is no way to get it.

IMO BMW is doing you a favor by not giving you this. It doesn't belong on a M3.

There are 2 possible outcomes if you ask...

1. No.
2. Hell No.

Koroush, I went through the same thing as you a while back. They will do it.....but the $$$ are huge. The wood has to be tested for crashworthiness, etc, etc, etc because it's not been used on a 3 ser before. So I gave up after they said "no" a whole bunch of times unless I wanted to spend a ton of money. And I wanted the same as you. Audi has this color of wood in some of their cars. With the right interior leather color, it's a fantastic look.
