Is Anyone Else Disappointed in the Seats?
I guess I had gotten used to the lack luster seats in my e90. I picked up a new A4 Avant last week as my daily and I have to say the seats in that car make the BMW's seats look like a joke. They really couldn't put the motorsports seats in here on a $71K sticker price? Just so frustrating that we have to spend an extra $2K aftermarket to get seats that live up to the performance of the car. /rant

I'll admit I LOVED the Recaros in my S4, but all in all no, I am not disappointed in the seats.

As far as the 'Performance' seats, not everyone would even want those seats in a daily driver, I know I wouldn't.

You'd have to be deformed to be disappointed with these seats. Sure, there may be nicer seats in other cars, but keep in mind this gen M3 was meant for a broader customer market.

not everyone wants to sit in this all day long. with no seat back adjustment and limited adjustability for bigger/smaller people... what would you have wanted from our seats?

Yeah I disapointed as I have one big issue. When I have a loud noisy gas expulsion,my wife can hear it and she hits me about the head. When she rides with me I have a sore head quite oftenWhy does BMW build a seat that does not muffle sounds from the driver better

Yeah, LA is horrible. I've been there 4 times in the last year, and it takes about 2 hours to travel 20-30 highway miles almost regardless of the time of day I joked with people about renting a heli next time I go...

I love the M3 seats... very supple! i don't think that I could deal with Recaros every day, my back would be killing me! I wouldn't want to have Recaros if i was going on a long road trip! YIKES!!

It took me awhile to get used to these seats. Now, I'm quite satisfied with mine. I've taken a long drive without any discomfort. You can take corners at speed without falling out of your seat

w00t! 20 more pages of bantering on how the M3's seats add to it's velocity and how it helps the DCT put down more torque because it's lighter!

Or seriously obese . With all the adjustments available and their great ergonomics, the ultra great majority of owners are satisfied. And even if you aren't, calling them a joke is childish at best .
These are the best seats I've ever had. My only initial disappointment was the leather, since I was expecting the supple one I experienced on a test- drive (launch model with gray interior), but the thicker black one I have will last looking new much longer, so it's a good compromise. Just did a 1K-mile trip and zero discomfort. Car has many faults, but the seats are not one of them. Take care gang. |

I like the seats, but they could have a bit more support. Best seats I have used are the RS4 seats, extremely comfortable and supportive.

No complaints here, lumbar adjustability, and the rib area bolsters as well.
What more do you need? I would've loved if the M3 emblem in the head rest was more visible. the only thing i can think of that might make the seat a little better, is if the part where our arse is could be a suede type anti slide material other then that i would be whining |

Totally happy with the M3s seats. The leather is actually a grade up from the leather seats I had in my 2008 535xi. I see no problem at all.
