Hey man,

Just got my new tires and wheels mounted up, decided to not get new tpms sensors installed since my car has the older version anyway (11/08) build. I also don't have iDrive, so I don't get the nice features anyways. Am I able to code out the tpms like you did? I was looking on the other thread you cross linked..looks to be some confusion in regards to non CiC cars...

Thoughts? I also think my rdc module is located somewheres else different from your car

I believe the module is located behind the battery area in the inner trunk based on what I've looked at. In regards to non-iDrive, once you remove the VO and add the 265 VO, you should be able to just recode all your modules to defaults to reflect the new vehicle order. Note: this most likely will delete any previous coding you had before. You can go through the OBC Stalk to reset the tires once FTM is enabled.

##For which vehicle order to delete and add:
You can check your VIN for the Vehicle order (VO) that you need to remove. BMWVIN.com shows the VO code in the breakout.

##For example my car this is displayed:
S2VBA Tire pressure display

2VB is the VO that i need to remove and add 265 for FTM for 2011. I'm unsure what the 09 ones are.

So I do have the same s2vb VO as you to remove; I found the module and removed it .

Now gotta code new VO and settings.

Looking at what needs to be coded:

CIC: RPA_CIC
aktiv
CIC: RDC
nicht_aktiv
CIC: RDC_SAFETY
nicht_aktiv
KOMBI: RDC_ALIVE
nicht_aktiv
KOMBI: MMI_ENA_RPA_RDC
aktiv
KOMBI: RDC_VERBAUT
nicht_aktiv
KOMBI: DSC_MIT_RPA_CC
aktiv
KOMBI: RDC_DISP_SWITCH
nicht_aktiv
MK60_M3: RPA
aktiv

Since I don't have Cic do I just forgo that ecu? Or is there a substitute?

I would assume if the module is there, there is nothing else to code. The KOMBI has it's own menu in the cluster. I don't remember and you may be able to help on this one, does the radio have an option to reset TPMS in the little orange screen?

IN the spirit of last weekend's F1 start of 2018! We start off with an old defunct BMW Sauber F1 team flag!

So I think I did it lol. Coded out old VO added new one. Coded applicable modules. Tpms lights is gone from dash. No reset on radio...only via BC stalk. I reset it via that. Haven't tried to drop a tire down and see what happens...don't care much if it does...just didn't want a light on the dash! Thanks for the help.

Those ps4s tho. they grip!! Coming from older dried and run down PsS I'm amazed. Now to get the car to a proper track day.

You can call him that. But you need to start firing pictures of your E90 ZCP in the forums.

##DME Update
I purchased a BimmerGeeks KDCAN cable to update my DME to the latest BMW software. The BimmerGeeks cable has a firmware update that differentiates it from other cables. The benefit of the firmware update is that it will allow a MSS60 DME update without erroring out and corrupting the data on the DME.

I updated my DME to 241E. My first initial test drive and the low end feels smoother than when it was on the 200E update. Cold start seems louder but I think this might be superficial due to adaptations lost.

Either way:

Cheers to a great week to you all!

You're killing me! I'm losing my breath keeping up with your coding and mods, haha. I just finished updating the maps on my E90 and E82.

So are there any clear, documented differences between 200E and 241E? I don't have any drivability issues currently so I'm debating if it's worth the effort and risk.

Anyway, keep up the good work!

Thanks man!

Flying Ace probably said it the best from his DME update post. http://www.m3post.com/forums/showpos...75&postcount=6

I do notice my low-end throttle input has improved when the car is still warming up. It used to buckle a lot and make myself look like a tool. Outside of that, I haven't really driven it yet, so I will let you know! Improvement may also be a placebo effect due to the adaptations being cleared.

@derbo

What software are you using to do the update? I need mine updated, but refuse to pay the dealer $500. I have the bimmergeeks cable...

Did you do firmware update on the cable yourself? Hook up car to battery charger etc? How long did the process take?

WinFKP with SP DATEN v60.1.

Car was hooked up to a battery charger but a power supply is recommended. It should take about 20minutes to update properly. I did run into some issues on my first attempt where the Flash broke at 95%. It corrupted the DME data but I was able to recover it with another attempt. Mike from BPM warned he has seen a few DME bricked even when using the BimmerGeeks Cable which falls in line with what I saw on my first attempt.

You may risk bricking your DME, so you have been forewarned! ICOM adapters and ISTA/P is the dealership way to update i-Levels of a car.

Wow, that's scary. I would be interested in updating my software, but bricking a DME is a fairly risky proposition.

#PhotoDump!
A friend had the opportunity to borrow an F90 M5 from BMW NA for a few days so naturally, I wanted to check it out and feel the power of 600hp monster. This car is too crazy at 0-60mph in 3.2s (BMW official numbers, C&D did it in 2.8s). That car is too much. I also took some pics of the dirty E90M

Have a great weekend!

Maya wants a front Euro. Haven't had the time to look into it. You aware of any links etc... on how to choose the letters/numbers and ordering?

The one on the car is from an actual euro delivery BMW from 2009.

Quote:
Export plates (also known as Ausfuhrkennzeichen, customs plates) are used for exporting vehicles abroad. The owner does not have to be a German resident to register the car. The date on the red strip on the right hand side does not show the expiration date of the plate; instead it shows the expiration date of the vehicle insurance. After this date the vehicle must have left Germany.
The M stands for Munich the city and the middle is the random numbers.

Great write up and the e90 looks fantastic.

My first BMW was an e46 330i M-sport. Loved the ZHPs and they were really fun and solid cars to drive!
