Monsta,
Glad you also got your Yellow pads. I might also tag along for the installation as I do not have the tools space to do it at my place... Quote:

I used a c-clamp in my DIY because that's what I have. If you are buying new stuff, getting a piston retractor tool migbt be a better option. You need to make sure it fits the M calipers though. You'd use it after you pull the caliper out. Leave the pad clipped to the piston and then push it back with the tool.

I just use two Craftsman pry bars and lever the caliper frame outward gently to compress the piston before I take any bolts our springs off the caliper. Once you get the knack of doing it, it takes about 15 seconds.

Seems to me everyone is going for the Pagid yellow pads at this point.
Is there any alternative out there?? I understand, "you got what you paid for" but I am fine with little less performance if the price is right. |

There are definately alternatives. I called Porterfield and they can custom cut raybestos race pads for much less the cost of the pagids. They will have higher temp limits, more bite and should last almost as long as the yellows. I've been using raybestos for years now and keep coming back because they last long, have excellent bite and decent rotor wear. I've also used the hawk DTC series and was similarly happy with their braking characteristics. The only downside to them is that they wore out in 2 weekends. I would image that Hawk will be releasing them at some point for our cars. |

If you can overheat a Pagid RS-19 on anything near a stock M3, more power to you. I have heard not one complaint about the RS-19s on an e9x M3.
On the other hand, I am still waiting for the PF-06s to come out for our cars. The RS-19 is my fall back position if I can't wait any longer. |

for the Price of the Pagid pads you might as well go for a STOP TECH big brake kit.

"I am a little hesitant to use the Pagid yellows on our heavy M3's given that they are an enduro pad with medium temp limits. I understand that they are an awsome pad and of course worlds above stock pads but I'm curious as to why people are choosing the RS19's over the newer RS29's or even the Pagid Blacks? Has anyone on this forum faded the yellows at all on track? I know of a quick evo guy that was able to overheat them.

Rotor eaters, ultra high friction. Porterfield pads absolutely suck more than anything has ever sucked since the beginnin gof time - I cannot begin to bitch about how bad the R4 pads are. For me the Pagid is a bargain. Bargain? Well, they've lasted 8 track days, FAR longer than anything else I've tried on my other track cars. In the end, they are cheaper than the rest. Craig Rennstore daht cawm has them now, just bought my my 2nd set Thurs. |
