DIY ... pain in ass to get int there, but you can do it yourself. The biggest issue was to align the replacement to the way the originals came out. Make sure to take note which groves are facing which way when you take out your OEM ones. The groves are not symetrical, and guessing how it came out will take some time. I installed mine (with some witts from a friend) in about 1 hour. If I had to do it over again, it would take 20 minuts - 10 minutes for beers.

Agreed, but I really suggest you not play around with it in the winter. I was so anxious to get mine on, I was doing it in -20 degrees..came out with a bloody hand.

Changing these bulbs really is a nightmare. I wonder how the dealers handle this awful task???

Strange, I have pretty large hands and didnt have too much issue. Have changed them on a few cars including both of the M3's I own(ed).

Some locking forceps would certainly make the job much easier

Yea that sounds like a good idea. I guess after you do it a few times you learn the tricks.

It all depends on the bulb and ballast that comes with it. Certain bulbs are so easy to install. I just got the new angel eye from E92 lighting. The thing is enormous and I had to take it apart in order to get it into the small opening. I am at a loss for the right side right now as the groves don't align perfectly upright to put this other piece on that I had to take off.

I will say though in comparison to the other bulbs I had in there (lux) these things are significantly brighter on the inner ring.

If anyone has bought this bulbs before advice would be appreciated on how you got them in.

I have just received mine and they are huge. Much longer than stock.
Tried for about an hour to fit them in but it seems that there isn't enough room at the back to fit. I was worried i'd break the the light transmitter that goes from one ring to the other.
Gonna try to fit them in tomorrow again. If it works i'll take some photos for you.

Other than the fact that you need fingers like "cocktail sticks", it's a pretty easy DIY.

you don't understand, some of those led bulbs are just massive...
Here is how mine looks.

Compare it with the regular one and you will understand why some people may have troubles replacing them.

After second attempt I finally managed to fit that thing in...
I am sure all man at this forum are very proud of me right now.

Anyway, just wanna give you ideas how I got mine done.

At first i thought it is impossible

But then I figured the way to do it,
See the picture below.

It has to be done step by step.
Drop it down then try to fit the bulb itself first; then lift up the end of the bulb. In my case I had to move it sideways and lift the bar the way I showed on the picture.
Also I was pulling the cable with one hand that is right at the back of the bulb and pushing it in with the other hand.
At the end I had to add some force but be very careful.

I know its not the best pic because I took it with my cell but still you can see the difference.

Good luck!
