Comfort Access*
If the car is equipped with Comfort Access, only
insert the remote control into the ignition lock
under special circumstances, refer to page 33.
but on page 33 I doesn't seem to say why not. Below loops back to above

Starting the engine
You can start the engine or switch on the igni-
tion when a remote control is inside the vehicle.
It is not necessary to insert a remote control into
the ignition lock, refer to page 55.

The only time I do is when I go through the car wash.
You bring your M3 to a car wash?

My battery finally started giving up after 3 years of ownership, 14K miles, driven almost daily. For some reason I didn't think to search the forums or even RTFM, I just assumed it was some proprietary battery that my dealer would have to replace under warranty, especially since it lasted 3 full years. I felt pretty foolish when all my SA did was pop off the cover and slide a fresh CR2032 in. Probably cost me more in gas to drive over there than the battery would have by itself.

So have no fear, just replace it yourself! Cheers.

Simply Ask, I Wonder How The Key Fobs Could Be Charged, Since There Aren't Any "charging" Contact Terminals On It..
What A Joke...
Really?! Haven't you heard about Inductive charging!!!! Probably you are not iinto technology and probably you still have to plug in your phone to an outlet to charge it!!!!

If I don't put my M3 E93 CA key in the terminal for days I get a low battery warning asking me to put key in dash, when I do consistently put in dash, I dont get any message. Meaning it must charge.

Try locking/unlocking the car by simply touching the door handle with the keyfob in your pocket. Or try starting the car without inserting the keyfob

My comfort access fob was giving low battery signs and when I started putting it into the ignition and driving with it in all the low battery messages went away. Made me think it was being charged as as well
