left foot braking

guys, i wonder is it only me who use left foot braking on DCT,

because i seriously find it difficult to use my left foot to brake with that TINY LITTLE padal. so i am looking to change it to the Hamann style padal, so it will be bigger.

does any one know any other brand with Middle Drill able Brake padal?

Double check on that (you have option of round or flat rubber inserts). Many finish options as well. Check them out at www.ultimatepedals.com . You just missed on a 20%-off GB that ended Sunday night. I ordered mine shiny (the photo above has 'frosted') to better match the dead pedal, and engraved but with just the '///M', rather than 'M3', also to better match the dead pedal. And they do custom work, which means any pedal dimensions you want. Hope this helps.

I left foot brake sometimes on track to help settle the car on faster corners.I would love to have a larger pedal on my 6 speed car!

Not sure this will work, but the concept is excellent. Don't think the kit is available any more, but try looking HERE.

Right... Look at Walter Röhrl. It takes some getting used to it at first but then you learn not to mash the brake as you do the clutch.

lol, left foot braking is ok, but not common - however, my right foot is big enough to modulate both at the same time

pivot left or right...heh

I've never seen peddle modulation like that in my life!

Left foot braking is not needed on the street. You DCT guys are so cute.

I was taught that the left foot is supposed to be on the dead pedal to support your wieght as the inertia thrusts your body forward, especially under hard braking? This way you are not bracing your self with your arms and inadvertanly affecting your steering input.

THAT is driving. Nothing more demanding of driving skills than offroad IMO. And that kind of skill is what people are giving up with their DCT nanny trannies .

They started using left foot braking on those cars so the throttle and brake could be applied at the same time to keep boost pressure up. And when he's hitting the clutch/brake at the same time, that's just heel-toe, not too difficult. It allows you brake, blip the throttle, and downshift all in one smooth motion so the car doesn't get upset under downshifting.

I used to left foot brake to smooth transitions from accel to decel but now I'm too lazy so I just heel toe.

Check out Keiichi Tsuchiya's footwork too, damn fast and still smooth.
