Thoughts:
I'm glad you escaped with only a dented hood after being hit by a large piece of flying debris while racing on a public road at 135mph. Does your friend really want to submit your hood repair through his insurance, thereby increasing his premiums, rather than just pay the few hundred bucks out of pocket? If he does want to submit it through insurance, you should probably have a detailed police report generated of the entire event for the insurance company... |

Maybe he could paste your post into his claim form ?
Maybe you could cop on a bit and just get the hood fixed and say no more about it. They are my suggestions.

Unfortunate, I hope you two work it out between yourself s. I think since you both were raising the fair thing to do would be to split the repair cost and stay clear of the insurance.
That is what friends do. My 2 cents anyway.

I think your better off paying out of pocket. Too much explaining, and headache for such a small damage.
If you do decide to file a claim, remember you both were going speed limit on the freeway. Middle of the afternoon and get both your stories straight |

if you drive a M3, and he drives a Porsche, i'm sure a few $100 from both parties will cover that, and you wont even see the difference and your daily budget...
lot, lot easier than trying to explain to an insurance agent what happened... |

Must have been on the street if the op is going to claim against the 996 turbo insurance co. And if on the street, no sorrow from me that the damage occured, and at that speed, bet both can be thankful that is all the damage done - no wonder M3s get a bad rep.
