Weighed my car today

After my most recent mod (Akra Evolution exhaust) I was curious to see how much my car weighed. I had my car weighed on a public weighbridge and to my surprise it came in at 1640kg with a full tank of fuel. This is a good 100kg more than I thought. Anyone else had their M3 weighed?

Not the most accurate way to do it. The scales at some race tracks would be better. Also if you know anyone with corner weight scales is probably the most accurate way to do it.

Yes I realise that, it was just an approximation. The weighbridge operator said it's accurate to within 20kg. I do plan to visit a corner weighting business to get it done properly though.

It will be interesting to see what it is compared to the weighbridge and also what BMW say that it should be considering you have already taken some weight out of the car!!!

I always wanted to do this as well! A full tank should weigh around ~40kg I guess, what kind of options do you have?

Off the top of my head, I think the CF roof saves 20-25kg or lbs? and DCT is also another 25kg if I remember correctly.

Aussie cars are already quite well specced, with comfort access, iDrive and so on, so I would expect them to weigh a bit more

Density of petrol is around 0.75 so a full tank weighs around 47 kg. I had nothing else in the car that would weigh it down.
