You DO NOT have to take the wheel off and the liner off!!!!!!! First, the MS device is NOT waterproof and you SHOULD NOT install it outside the vehicle! Look at the connectors on it, they are EXPOSED for gods sake! If you want to ruin your $250 dollar module, be my guest but we don't install them anywhere outside the vehicle. I will upload pictures tomorrow to show you the correct way to install in 2010+ vehicles that have the single exterior TMPS module. If you follow the wires up from the TPMS module in the passenger wheel well, they go INSIDE the vehicle right inside the passenger side edge seat cushion. Tap and wire there. MUCH EASIER and cleaner!! This is honestly a pretty easy install. Feel free to PM me with any questions and I will post new pictures up asap.

As you can see, the pictures show the wire path of the OEM TPMS module. The only other wires that run with that bundle are the brake wear sensor and speed sensor which are thicker yellow wires so you know which not to touch.
The wires exit that grommet (pictured) and when you take off the side seat cushion, they are behind the grey cloth padding. Just pull it back and tap there. The MS plug itself is numbered with a 1 under pin 1 and 16 over pin 16 to show you what number the pins are (for people who don't know) so you can correctly match up the right wires. Literally all you have to do is tap into the RED power wire, Brown ground wire and cut the green/brown to tap (to MS module) and (to factory TPMS module) like the post earlier on page 4 describes.

TPMS module is located under the hood in the DME box.

TPMS Light
Hello! I need help ASAP
I have a BMW X3 2012 with about 90k miles. The TPMS light has come on after i got new tires. Tire pressure is fine but light wont go away. Tried resetting and it didn't work. Recently, TPMS light came on and all the dashboard lights, drive, back up camera and more were flashing and not working. Turns out I have an error code D018E8. Does anyone know how to fix this? Its the TPMS sensor. Is it costly? I am a college student who got this car as a gift and simply can not afford it. Thanks in Advance! |
