My E90 has been slowly building over the last 5 years towards this stage of dedicated track car, and I spent the last two days pulling out a large part of the interior in preparation for a weld in roll bar installation.
It is amazing how much material there is in these cars, and it will be interesting to see how much weight is lost. I have left the wiring largely intact, and will parse that down as I sort out what is necessary and what isn't. The sunroof continues to be difficult to eliminate, and I may just pull it out and build my own form for a carbon sunroof insert. I did a lot of work in the 2015 timeframe and the car didn't change much after that. So I'll call that Phase 1. I've started Phase 2 this year to build out a NASA ST3 / TT3 car. Most of that starts on page 3 of this thread. Modifications (as of 8/1/2020): -MCS 2WNR Dampers with 700/900lb Springs -Alcon CR6420 (front) l CAR4949 (rear) BBK w/ PFC 01 l PFC 332 Pads -Custom aluminum brake duct backing plates -Turner Aluminum Rear Subframe and Delrin Diff Bushings -Remus Race Mid Pipe (no cats/resonators) -Bimmerworld Race Exhaust -Bimmerworld Front and Rear Aero -Bimmerworld carbon headlight inserts -18x10 Apex w/ BFG R1s & Pirelli DH Scrubs -BPM Stage II Tune -Voltphreaks Lithium Ion Battery -CAE Race Shifter -Diffsonline 4.10 3 Clutch Diff -Racetech 4119 Seat and Schroth 6 Point Harness -Custom (DIY) carbon sunroof insert

This is great. I am making the same transition with my e90 and have been searching cage options (I'm temped to do a half cage so that the car remains somewhat more streetable), but I haven't found much info available for the e90. I'm very interested to see how your BPC cage turns out.

I think the only way to go with the sedan is a custom build- there just does not seem to be enough of a market right now for vendors to build track specific equipment for the E90s. To that end- BPC is pulling out the sunroof cassette and I am taking the plunge on making my own CF panel.

You could always just order a non-sunroof panel from BMW for ~$900, and removal/installation shouldn't be too bad.

Nice, but you may find PFC01 compound a little too much for street tires and low end of R compounds tires. I would move go with full slick, given your current suspension setup.

Stopped by BPC today to drop off the harness and pick up the sunroof cassette to start the build of the CF insert.
BPC weighed the car at the completion of the weigh loss, and it came in at 3177 lbs. The cage will add a fair bit, but I am shooting for around 3300-3325 lbs. Project should be complete on the 27th, and I am getting the cage painted Fire Orange to match the PFC Calipers. The cage build continues- here are some updated photos: fabrication:

May I ask what/ how you're building the CF insert? I am in the same position as you with closing up the sunroof area in my 135. Will you be purchasing a kit or sourcing all the materials seperately to build a mold to lay the carbon fiber inside of or?

I will gladly take that parcel shelf cover off your hands if it is not faded. My 2010 one is purple!
Good build so far!
