Watched all the hot lap videos today and from the drivers view point it seems like the porches are in the lead with the R8 v10 close behind. I'm sure the gtr will be in the top 5 because its a great car but to "electronic". He said the viper and m6 were very hard to drive so I'm guessing that rules them out. The aston and jag might be the best to look at but they're probably out too. OP thanks for starting this thread I love this competition. Here's hoping next year's will have a vette and m3

In regards to the GT-R being too "computerish."
I've had the opportunity to drive a 2009 and a 2014 (both premium models - owned by the same guy). He owned the 2009 from new in late 2008 and drove it for 36,000 miles and never had an issue. It was completely stock and driven everyday in all kinds of weather (in Pennsylvania). Yes, for sure, the 2009 seemed to be very computerish and I could definitely feel the computer trying to work out the best way around the corner. It literally felt like the front end was trying its hardest to pull me around the corner. The ride was super stiff. The transmission was not smooth at all except in R mode. Then it was great. The engine was like an electric motor - instant response and pulled very hard to redline. The 2014 is a very different car. It feels much more organic and natural - by any standard - not just in comparison to the 2009. The ride was much better and more controlled. The steering feel was better and the interface with the driver was better. Handling was so much more natural. In tight turns - it actually oversteered a bit to bring the back end around! It felt so controlled and really well mannered. The transmission felt better in any mode. This engine is a step up as well. It crushes first gear so quickly that you almost always bump the rev limiter. Again, like an electric motor for sure. All in all, the 2014 car is much more polished and refined, including the materials used on the interior. It didn't feel like a 3900lb car for sure. Nissan has made a true supercar for $100K (wow - I never thought I'd say that because I still don't really like the looks).

Just as I said above, there was no chance it wouldnt be the 911 or Cayman S.
And the funny thing is, it isnt even a RWD or special 911 model (aka GTx). But again, Porsche spanks the competition when it comes to handling, feel and precision...and thats not even getting into how great of a performance car it is and the other intangibles it offers in spades. |

I am just a little surprised the SLS conquered the GTR, for the second time now. Even Randy said he just wanted to keep driving the 4s, that's the only car he had something like that to say. If only I could afford it

You could listen to his comments in every car and get where this "award" was probably going.
Each car is unique in their own way. Porches haters should be showing up any minute now. The 991 just has that incredible whirring sound. |

No LOL! Both of his cars are Super Silver. He lives about 15 minutes North of Horsham.
