Either way, its a scary event. Its actually something that crosses my mind at the Glen sometimes.

The Hoosier R6 is closer to being a real race tire than the majority of the track tires that we all use.The sidewalls are quite thin and the tire is very light and is much more susceptible to damage from debris & misuse.I am not saying that is what caused this incident.Look at the 24 hour race that just happened and look at the amount of tire issues that happened during that race.Daytona is a hard place on tires for sure.

Apologies for the camera angle, that's the downside to the Go Pro's.
New version has a far better feature set with the ability to view the camera angle on your smartphone.
