Tint % question: 20 rear/35 all sides, 20 rear and rear-side/35 front, 35 all around?
Had always done 35 all around, but did 20 on rear/rear-side and 35 on front on my Accord 6MT and doesn't look bad at all. Reason is the rear window is HUGE.
I'm not a big fan of tinted windows, but in hot TX, they're a must. The good news is with 35% in front, visibility is not affected at night, plus you get no reflection (that's why anything darker is illegal in most states). Only issue is what to do with rear and rear sides . Rear window is not that big on this car, so don't know. Car is always garaged so I don't really have a strong preference for any of the 3, but when outside, 20% protects interior better, car doesn't get as hot, and A/C works better, but looks darker overall. Just the rear 20 don't know how it looks as I've never done it; probably not bad. Decisions, decisions; that's why I need your help . And yes, all 3 choices are legal, and will stick to the winning poll choice. Comments welcome. EDIT: How the heck do you edit a poll? Clicked on 'public poll' thinking it was the option to view results, but that's something different. Want to 'uncheck' that. Thx. |

All your options are good, but I think that 20 rear and rear side with 35 front windows will look a bit off. I'm not into mixing and matching tints on the side of the car.
I would go for 35 fronts and rears and 20 rear windshield. Reason; when you're looking at tint you are always looking through two windows. If the rear is 35, then looking through it from the front or the rear will make it appear lighter than the rest of the car.

Most likely I'm going to do 35% all around as well.
But if anyone want to see 50% front, 35% rest (VA state legal limit) on E92 335i, my old car had that setup:

The gang has spoken . So 35% all around it is .
Besides the car being garaged most of the time (except while being driven), I have the electric rear sunshade, so I can always use that for extra shade if needed. Thank you very much for your input folks; greatly appreciated. Enjoy your weekend . |
