I was gonna ask the same thing, especially since we have Mosport coming up at the end of the month.

I might put them in a week before the event since time is going to be tight. So they are OK on the street, Im not concerned about the noise, more so about initial cold bite.

No problem doing that. I have had them on my car since Watkins Glen since I had a few track days lined up I just left them in. Cold bite is just fine for the street. Noise really isnt too bad at all. Just a tiny bit of squeal. They will probably just stay on my car until after the Mosport event.

Perfect thanks.

Thanks for the heads up on replacement parts at Budds BTW. Spoke to Ted and got the parts I needed. My left front rotor was pretty bad.

I got my Pagid RS29s finally in, took a few months.

If anyone needs the part numbers, let me know and I can send them to you. Supposedly the part numbers for either the front or the rears is new.

Make sure you put the XR pads on a few days before the track day and drive moderately to 'clean' your rotors. Then at the track, on your 1st session, give a few good stabs and get them up to temp and come in and let them cool till the 2nd session. After that, you should be in pro-racer brake heaven.

jesus lord. my lord holy omfg. these pads are ridiculous. part of my excitement is the BBK-on-track-first-experience bias, but these pads are amazing. no fade in 40 min sessions. they are also EXTREMELY torquey which I have to say I love. extremely little pedal travel, but it makes heel-toe (toe-toe) a lot easier. wildly impressed.

Woo what a awesome thread took forever to read but enjoyed it

Had ap racing brakes on my tme evo and loved them except I did get pad knock and never got it sorted however the left foot touching the pedal never bothered me to much.

Not sure which I'd go for now, I had my mine set of the brembo 380mm kit as they look amazing and not used brembos for years and I did like them before.

The ap 368 kit seem to be the better kit in my view though, performance wise, however I'm not trying to build the fastest track car and not after that .5sec difference etc just want the m3 to be slightly better on track and looks is still
important for me, hard decision;( but still amazing thread

Ok, after having driven on a brake-heavy track with my stock mintex pads (lapping night. No time to go to race pads), I would SERIOUSLY urge anyone that has bought this BBK or it's true purpose (less fade on a track) to buy race pads.

I was fading NOTICEABLY after 10 min on the track. Ridiculous.

They will burn up fast, I destroyed a new set at Watkins Glen.
I just finished 2 days at Mosport with RS29s on the APs and they were simply amazing. So easy to modulate, zero fade and 100% confidence to brake late. Very happy with the combo for track. The Mintex pads are great for street, but not heavy track use.

How did they wear? I have been happy with the Mintex F3R but they are not endurance pads. By the way I have my AST 5200s on and they are amazing.

Nice, looking forward to your full review of the ASTs.
I have not taken the RS29s out yet, I will measure them when I do. Should be out early next week. When I had them side by side with the F3Rs, the RS29s were a bit thicker to start with.

I concur -- the stock mintex pads are not up to track duty. See here for my experience. http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=437834

I recently tried some RS29s and have been very happy with them.

unlike you though, I did actually notice fade. i was braking at the same spot and ending up deeper. i don't know if it's that i am really harder on the bbk vs stock, or that the slotted don't cool as well as the vented, but i noticed more fade than stock m3 pads too!!

anyways, i really find EAS's response to your thread comical. they found no fade. they also have no fade with cool carbons...lol. just...LOL

Not sure where that response came from, but the Mintex pads that come with the APs are by no means a track pad - we found this out while at LVSW.

I'm using the Mintex F3R Race pads at the moment which have much better bite.

Don't mean to be disrespectful...
