Just noticed recently that my tires are rubbing on the backside of the fender lining. It's rubbing both on stock zcp rims with Pirelli p zero 245/35/19 and also my track apex ec7 18x10 with rs3 275/35/18.
The rubbing only happens when I'm turning right. I checked the liner and all the bolts seem to be in place. Drove with the car almost a year with no problems. It's a minor rubbing but it's annoying as every right turn I hear a bumping clunking sound. Anybody ever experience this? Or know a solution for this? |

That's great and all but you're not looking for the root cause.
BMW did not design your car to rub on factory wheels/rubber. You also mention a bumping clunking sound. I'd get her on a lift and peek up her skirt. Sounds like something wrong downtown. |

Car is out of warranty and not exactly stock by dealer standards. Probably will have a look while on the lift getting my oil change this Friday. |

Are you the first owner
Does the car align well within nominal range or did they have to make a lot of adjustments (possibly from a past accident or suspension hit) Is the fender liner properly attached |

I have this same problem, but running 275's on 19x10 wheels up front. I tried to heat the liner in that area with a heat gun and bend it back, however there is metal structure right behind that spot. The plastic only bends so far. I can live with it though as it only happens when turning at low speed and the wheel passes that spot.
