What do you guys use to take off your wheels??
I know this seems like a simple and stupid question, but I'm using a tire iron and its getting worn and was wondering what you all use. And where did you purchase?
Thanks for the input!

Yes, tire iron is tedious. If you get an impact it will speed things up a lot. Don't use the impact to torque the lugs, just to spin them on and off. Torque them by hand with a torque wrench set to 88-90ft.lb.

Good ole fashion cross tire iron. Does the job, provides plenty of leverage and allows you to spin the lugs rapidly.
http://www.toolplanet.com/product/Ti...RdOBoCeBnw_wcB Of course I use a torque wrench to tighten down. |

I have a Dewalt corless impact wrench but yeah.. only need to use it to remove lugnuts, never use it to put lugnuts on. I learned the hard way.

I like technology, if the OP has other needs for an impact, then sure spend the $250 on it. If only need is tire removal, a cross works just fine, and almost as rapidly.
Plus it works out your lats |

Biggest downside with the old school tire iron is that a lot of custom wheels have the lugs sunken down into the wheel without a lot of space around them. One can use a lug extender to work around that, but then it's one more thing to keep track of.
