Intelligent alternator control (IGR) disabled?

Recently got ProTool and started poking around. Noticed IGR was disabled in two different areas. Does this mean the PO coded IGR out? Any reason not to enable these? And why is it in two different places?

Hey. I was just going through some coding and found what you found. Any chance you figured out what its for and/or if it should actually be turned on if we dont have agm batteries?

All I can tell you is that I've had it on all this time and my battery (Odyssey AGM) seems fine so far.

My radar detector shows battery voltage and I can see the voltage cycling up and down under different conditions. No idea if it did that before I enabled this option, though.

"Never had a problem" is one of the most meaningless statements when people talk about their cars, but it's all I got in this case. Take it for what it's worth.

Still curious to hear from anyone who really knows what this option does.

Intelligent Generator Control

The DME will effectively control the alternator output. I cannot find literature EXACTLY, but the DME will control the alternator in certain full throttle events. This is done via LIN communication to the alternator.

I would suggest putting this feature ON.

Yep. Makes sense.

Here's where I get a bit confused: Isn't this feature part of the car's normal feature set? If so, why would I have found it disabled on my car? Is there more than one IGR mode? Or is there reason to believe my car's previous owner had a shop disable it for some reason?
