Frustrated

So I have been lurking around this forum for over a year now waiting for the right time to pull the trigger. I finally went in for a test drive last Friday and loved it. I agreed on a price and told my dealer to order the car on Saturday. They said they would put the order in right away.

It is now Thursday and I have no confirmation that the order was ever made. I e-mailed the guy yesterday and he said he would have the confirmation to me by the end of the day - still nothing.

How pissed should I be? Finally decided to pull the trigger and I want the car ordered NOW. How long can it possibly take for them to put the order in? Starting to get increasingly angry.

Thoughts?

you would think in this kind of economy, they would be jumping on your order.

Why would he not tell him that? I hate these idiots that think silence and bullshitting is better than telling the truth.

Most probably they needed to grab him while he was hot... if they would have told him that there was no allocation there was a chance that he would have left to another dealer... or so they assumed.

Dealer responded today with the 'Vehicle Inquiry Report' showing the car was ordered today. They apologized for the delay but provided no reason. No mention of waiting for an allocation. I get the impression that they just didn't try to put it through until today. Not sure why.

Had they told me there was a wait for an allocation I wouldn't have been angry.

Now comes the waiting.....

I feel for you man. I was fortunate enough to get my Vehicle Inquiry Report about 2 days after I placed my order. If your dealer truly cared, they would've kept you updated on what was exactly going on, even if they couldn't find an allocation or production slot. Also, there should be no reason that the dealer should be afraid of losing your business if there is a delay in getting the production #. As long as they provide great service and respond to a customer's needs in a timely manner, they will not lose anyone. Customer service and cutomer support is extremely important.
