https://www.caranddriver.com/reviews...take-road-test It's 4100 lbs, quite a bit more than the other versions, so it's not nearly as adept at handling a twisty road, much less a track. It's also a lot less rigid. Jiggly, said the article. That being said, it's still a great car and as the article said, one of the best verts you can buy. It just isn't one of the best M3s you can buy. I should also say that my coupe has a sunroof, and all of these cars have a full back seat, so no, they are not going to equal a corvette for speed. But I'm not going to notice the 40lbs difference from CF roof. I will notice the 500 lb difference from a folding metal roof.

I hate to tell you, but if you bought an E9x as a dedicated track toy, you started with the wrong car. Quote:

See how silly this game is? The E92 is a great GT car, but chopping the roof off and adding 400lbs doesn't harm it as much as starting at 3700lbs does in the first place. All iterations are fatasses--at least the E93 has an excuse.

At any rate, notice I said that the E93 is an excellent convertible. It's just not a good M3. As for how you use your car, I don't think there is a wrong way to use it? As long as you enjoy it. I'm sure the S65 sounds amazing with the top down. You must simply accept the compromises that come with it. And the magic button you brag about? It doesn't make the roof go away, it just hides it in the trunk. I personally have never been a fan of any convertible, but I definitely see the appeal for those that do enjoy them. So I don't miss that feature. Now, E93 guys are still cool. I still wave when I see them. I'm not saying I don't like the E93, ok? Finally, here is an exert from the article, which can only be read one way really: "The truth is that the convertible you see here isn’t much of an M3 beyond powerplant and badging. “Whaddya mean,” you wail. “It goes from 0 to 60 mph in under five seconds! It’s got 0.92 g of lateral grip! Plus the steering wheel’s all fat and full of colory stitching! Sounds like an M3 to me.” Gone is the I-beam structural rigidity. Added are several hundred speed-sapping pounds of electric-top wizardry. Introduced are very un-M-like quivers and jitters. In our minds, the M3 badge stands for dynamic purity, and the (relatively) flexy chassis and porky curb weight of the convertible result in a dilution of that ideal. So the M3 convertible isn’t an M3 in the truest sense." So, great car. Great convertible. Not the best M3.

I’m going to start a thread titled “what’s your favorite sandwich” and wait to see how long it turns into a vert vs the world argument

no words, just glares from soccer moms who let their 3 year olds run the neighborhood with no adult supervision, riding their bikes and never looking where they are going (i.e. zipping out of their driveways), but then look at me like I'm the problem because my car is a little loud.
then have the nerve to get on Facebook and tell people they need to look where they are going and watch out for their children (not me personally, btw, I drive slowly as I know there are unsupervised little crumb snatching bastards all over the place) while the parents are no where to be found. get the fucking donut out of your mouth you 300lb sasquatch, supervise your kids and stop blaming everyone else for your laziness. end rant |

After I got my rims powder coated gunmetal, my neighbor complimented me on my mods, and said “Wow, you put Carbon Fiber Film on Your Roof”!! Looks amazing!!”” This is after 3 months of ownership 😂😂😂
