Plenum Cover

Anyone here running these? Seems like a low cost option. I know it's show only, but true CF and made in US.

Saw that on Facebook. I think if you're going to spend that much might as well get the Carboproject plenum so you experience it while you drive by the sound rather than only when you pop the hood.

you might as well wrap it in carbon fiber if youre going to buy just a "cover".

It's been posted on the owners group. The weave is iffy, splits in the middle and this doesn't include an OE core. I wouldn't personally feel comfortable DIY splitting open a component responsible for managing airflow to ITBs.

The best OE replica Carbon plenum is Eventuri, by far. CarboProject makes a great product for those looking to spend less and have a motorsport look available in various finish options with the enlarged lid.

They both sound amazing, with the Eventuri being the loudest from talking to people who have had both.

It's just a cover that you glue to the top of your oem plenum. Garbage.

Hey y'all thank you. That's good feedback. I know it's just a cover, which is why I said I know it's just for show.

There is no splitting the intake open as it's literally a vanity cover. I am also familiar with the other options. Wraps look like wraps and spending $1,300+ for sound and no performance gain isn't really appealing when one has a loud exhaust. $4-$600 on a CF cosmetic only mod doesn't seem too crazy, to me at least.

For those claiming "garbage", I do know their e30 sunroofs are of high quality and very popular with that crowd, which I have seen in person. This isn't some imported garbage from China. Can be ordered in bare CF, cleared etc. Shit, they even made a few Kevlar sunroofs that looked pretty cool (imo). I may just give it a shot and report back, I was just curious if anyone here has one.

If you drilled/dremeled some cross sections out of the top of an oem plenum and then glued this on top, you'd get an audible difference depending on the thickness of the carbon.

Could give you a fun project to make a rib cage top out of a plenum and a little epoxy work then BAM.. save yourself some $ against others and if the carbon is real thin be perfect since it's supported.

Go for it! Tell us how it is. I think it looks cool just not willing to pay that much for it. Haha and It reminds me of the lexus cf engine cover. Its your car and your money.

Understood...yeah, I guess there have been a few car things I have spent money on that aren't functional...I do appreciate you clarifying though and that's something I need to consider. How often do you open the hood...

I duno that's still awfully expensive for a "sticker". At $550 your half way to buying the eventuri plenum.

You have a link for that $1,100 eventuri plenum? I dunno, people seem to have no problem paying for CF non performance parts on exterior. Not sure what all this "sticker" hate is for an under-hood CF ornament.

It's halfway to a carboproject plenum. You have a point though, people spend plenty on cosmetic mods. Usually those are mods that can be seen though without opening the hood.

Ya, I'm 50/50 on it tbh. May just save myself the $ all together and stay stock. I do appreciate the feedback guys, which is why I asked. Good to hear what other enthusiasts have to say though.

I would skip this stick on cover! Save your money for the real deals if you really want the CF look with the bonus induction noise. There are many better way to spend $550.
