No DipStick!!!

there is a problem w/ this pic or should I say the engine...NO DIPSTICK!!!! or at least I can't see one...

first the M5 doesn't get one & now us...the M5 boys are getting low oil readings constantly or a message to check add oil & not having a dipstick to do a manual check is really disheartning, I'm fine w/ the computer but we all know it can malfunction & it has I would really like to do it myself instead of a computer checking it...I don't want to add too much oil and ruin my engine

I agree...some things should just be left they way they always were.

yeah its the same on the all new 3 series "no dipstick"

at first I didnt like that No Dipstick idea when I go my e90, but now I love it.

The electronic dipstick on the M5 and M6 is brilliant. I miss the old dipstick as much as old-timers did the gas stick when the gas gauge came out. Good riddance.

I'm LOL'ing as I own a car with the 'mechanical dipstick' (wooden ruler looking thing) because it lacks a gas gauge, while also owning an M3 that lacks a dipstick.
