So today after a short drive around town, the car threw 3 error codes:
-DBC Malfuntion! Drive carefully
-Start-off assitance inactive
-DSC malfunction! Drive carefully

And wipers went off, for a brief moment i wasn't able to turn them off

The yellow "Brake" light ,stability control light also went on on the dashboard.

Any idea on why is this happening? The car drove fine after the lights. I did some research most are saying this could be the ABS wheel speed sensor went bad? I just had the car tuned recently and definitely do not want to believe there's something wrong with my ECU...

Any input will be appreciated, thanks

i have not, just got the car less than a month ago. So this could possibly be a TA problem?

Run the codes with a scanner to see what exactly the ECUs are reporting. It could be the TAs but since the car drove fine afterwards I don't think they've failed. At least not a control board fry.

check the #30 fuse. it's the big black square peg to the right in your fuse box in the glove. These codes came up for me when I was fixing the seat belt arms. I had removed the fuse so that the arms stay in place while I removed them. then when starting the car I noticed these error codes came on. Hope that helps

The car had a little bit of jerkiness after the light went on I think but overall it was driving ok

How old/charged is your battery?

I had a low battery due to the car sitting a while when I worked on it, on my first test drive I had all of those errors. Put the battery on a tender and everything was fine the next day.

You’ll need to pull the codes, I experienced those fault messages a few weeks ago and it came up as 5DF0 and 5DF1. Unfortunately, that is the expensive one, where it was most likely the brushes getting stuck in the ABS pump motor. I pulled it out and sent it to Module Master last week, haven’t heard back from them yet. I’ll report back when I get the module back.

Was your car driving ok after the codes? Mine was driving fine after the errors but would definitely hope this was just the sensor issue

Yes, the car drove fine with the faults. Pull the codes, hopefully it’s not 5DF0 and 5DF1.

Is the reading from Carly OBD reader reliable? I just read the error codes and it gave me a bunch of errors including:
DSC: 005D97,00D371, 00D371, 00D372,
Instrument cluster: 00A3AD, 00A565
Junction box passenger Module: 00C918
Tire pressure control: 00D113

I don’t use Carly but I’m sure it is reliable for pulling fault codes. Look at this thread, https://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1425279. That’s good news if it is not the ABS module. Good luck!!

I had these codes with a wheel speed sensor fault. Only way that I know of to get to the bottom of it is to scan it.

One of the front fender liners on the car is a little damaged I wonder if this has anything to do with the sensor connection

I seem to be having similar issue as this original poster had, will need to see if it's just wheel speed sensor or is it the module under the seat, thanks

After I cleared the codes with Carly the codes came back up again. But with a new EDC malfunction code...

The edc button stopped working and car was defaulted to the stiffest setting. Wipers was turned on for and continued to wipe for about 10 mins. Couldn't be turned off...

Could this be edc module going bad?

So had a shop did some diagnosis and found out the steering column unit is bad. Had to replace the entire steering column unit which costs $700+....
The malfunctioning steering column unit is causing all the issues with stability control, wipers and turn signals not cancelling.

Thanks for the update and I'm sorry you had to encounter this after only a month of ownership. The good news is you got it fixed and didn't have to spend weeks buying parts and wasting time with no resolution. Good luck moving forward.
