If you are talking about the ECM/ECU, you have to get the key read at a dealer. Just pop in and talk to your service advisor and they can pull the specific version from your key in 30 seconds.

Dealer can't check this version directly with a key read. They can see the integration level which you can then translate into the software version of the dme. (See the unofficial integration level thread).

To get a complete update of all the upgradable/flashable modules, anybody know what are all the modules that are updateable for my car? I just got an e90 m3 2011 sedan (pre 9/10 build, CIC and LCI production). I've read in various places that some of the modules are CAS, DME, EGS. From the above postings I suppose that there's also ECM/ECU.

DME: Digital Motor Electronics
CAS: Car Access System
EGS: Transmission Control Unit (Electronische Getriebe Steuerung)
ECM/ECU: Engine Control Module/Engine Control Unit
CIC/iDrive
Navigation Map

Anybody know if there are more modules that can be updated and/or flashed? I've read about "updating the DCT" for DCT hesitation or jerkiness during slow driving. Are people talking about the ECM/ECU or the EGS?

Much thanks!

Hi everyone, i am very new here! My software says B3.41.E0 is this current? or how old is this? my dct has lag between the reverse and engagement of drive, and i was wondering if newer software would fix this, as i have read it does.
