The problem with quickjacks is that they really get in the way when do things in the middle of the car. Which is a major issue for me. (I'm going to guess that my need to be able to have 2-3 cars in the air frequently is much less of an issue for most people.) Also, they don't fit the 993 properly, which is the car that's genuinely a pain in the ass to jack up.

Lists of someone else's fake reviews coupled with affiliate links are not very useful, IMO.

Thats what its for opinions. We use those opinions to make decisions. This forum is built on sharing information and opinions, IMO.

Dude, my point is that "opinions" by people who make these affiliate link lists are meaningless. Do you have any idea how the affiliate link list review game works?

What is the value of an opinion that was likely written by someone who not only has not ever used the products in the list, but likely has never used a jack stand at all? Seriously, outside of a very limited set of groups, affiliate link review lists are a scam.

Aggregate advertising. It's BS. It's like instagram influencers how are paid to review how some product changed their life.

I hear ya. You can access the middle of the car, but you obviously have to slide in from the front or rear.

FYI, you can also use them horizontally instead of along the wheelbase:

LOL, the 993 is actually used as an example in this article.

You would need a broomstick or something to release the locks though since they'll be under the car:

Yeah, but across the sides introduces a whole new fun misalignment issue and makes access honestly even worse.

Also, quickjacks aren't really E30 compatible either, which is my other problem. You technically have jack points on the pinch welds at the side, but you shouldn't use them.

For what they do, they'd work really well for my E90, they just are too limited for *my* use to make sense. IMO, they are NOT a substitute for jacks and stands, they are a complement.

Edit: And I am aware that these are even more limiting for access, but the height that you get makes a mid-rise scissor lift an interesting option. You know - actually high enough to get an engine out.

Gotcha. Sounds like it doesn't work for you then.

Re: the pinch welds, curious why you shouldn't use them? Is it worry about damaging the body side panels? I bought special blocks with pinch weld slots in them for one of my other cars (my daughters' Infiniti EX), not that I really care about minor damage around the pinch welds since it's a 12 year old car. That being said, I've not noticed any damage as a result of using them.

They are almost always pre-damaged on E30s, you try to avoid using them unless absolutely necessary as they can collapse. Yes, the slot adapters are better than nothing, but it's still putting all the weight on the pinch. They are thirty year old cars that have frequently experienced hardship (I pulled my E30 M3 literally out of a field and restored it), so you tend to want to be careful.

Pinch welds always suck, but more modern cars seem to be a little better in that area.
