Genuine BMW e90 m3 boot mat questions

Hey all,

Have a few questions re the genuine BMW boot mat for the e90 m3.

Can anyone confirm the part number?

How snug is the fitment?

Does anyone else own one for the e90/e92 m3?

The reason I am asking as i just ordered one and although I am assured that it is the correct one the fitment is terrible. Comparing it to a genuine VW boot mat, aftermarket Mercedes boot mat and genuine Audi a6 boot mat, the fitment of the genuine BMW boot mat is terrible. I'm hoping it is a case of the wrong mat, however if not I actually believe that a non genuine mate would fit better than the factory one. Please see pictures attached for reference.

I have a genuine BMW boot mat in my E92 and the fitment is not millimetre perfect either. I guess through age perhaps, the mat’s lip at the back end towards the latch is curling over slightly. Not the neatest for sure but it does the job. Personally, I’ve just kept it in place purely because it was there when I bought the car! If it’s any help, the part# on mine is 51 47 0 397 600.

didnt have one in E92 but in 1 or 2 other bmws (cant remember which ones), and fitment is similar to what you have. they were never flush with the edge.

Thank you for the information, it's a brand new, ordered from BMW, so this is how it is from BMW.

It certainly seems that way, it really is disappointing knowing how good the fitment is for aftermarket mats and mats for other companies. Really appreciate the information.
