I am too for my E30 build. If BMW used real rear suspension instead of trailing arms then this wouldn't be so difficult. I think I'm going to swap in a different rear subframe, like the Nissan Silvia.

Can you weight the roof?
I'm interested to know how much weight you removed from the roof inside the car. Thx ;-)

Nice, But is this for show or for track? Why not put some of the budget towards a better intake and a Brake kit. Easily the first 1 and 2 things I would do to improve track time.

Show me one intake that gains power over the stock sealed airbox. And by "show" I mean an independent dyno that has power gains greater than the margin of error. Spending $2,000 on 5 (claimed) horsepower < gutting the interior and putting two racing seats for the same money.
