those are without front fog switch and without thumb wheel, for 09 models

for 08 models:

61 31 6 932 796 - front fog yes, rain sensor yes
61 31 6 932 797 - front fog no, rain sensor yes
61 31 6 932 798 - front fog yes, rain sensor no

the thumb wheel is only for cars without xenon lights, to justify the lighting range (wich is automatically with xenon) - so no use with xenon

I emailed Andy Maddux from LeatherZ and this is the e-mail traffic:

Is there any update on the switch?

Thanks,

I will look into it.

Are you able to get this switch for the 09 M3s. I
believe the PN is 61 31 9 169 400 - for cars with rain sensor (S521A). Can you please let me know? Thanks,
Denny

I take it you ordered from a German dealer? Or is your car German Spec?

Please post the P/N from the dealer you ordered it from, if you did order it.

Andy did apperantly order the PN highlighted and according to him it did not have a rear fog light button. Can you please verify? Or, what's the possibility of ordering one through you?

Thanks,

Denny

I'm german and my car is a 09 european spec model, I do not order it seperatly, it's standard equipment.
All german cars have rear fog lights and also the rear foglight button.

You willl find the PN 61 31 9 169 400 at part catalog only for ece models,
PN for usa spec shown below.

I guess Andy did not really get this (ece) PN (i think PN is stamped in ?)...

Thanks for looking into it ... I'll e-mail Andy and see if he still had the part to check the number.

Thanks Again,

Thumbs up I got the rear fog light mod

Since I am deployed in Iraq, I had my wife order the fog light switch for me. The part came in and I told her just to have BMW install it. They were going to charge her $180.00 to install that switch they said they would have to reprogram the car in order for the switch to work and they don't think the car is wired for it to work idiots They did not install this part they even offered my wife a refund for the part. My wife told them never mind and took the part home with her. I called up one of my friends that has a E92 335i with lots of mod and up grades Terrance28 is his post name. He has been putting mods on my car for me for free just to save me money and he like to mod cars. He install the switch and he had the switch changed out in less than 5 min. and "Bam" the switch worked and it saved me $180.00

shady I could have told you that. $180 for my ash tray delete from the dealer...okay. However the DIY for the rear fogs is on the site and I could have sent it to you in Iraq to dictate to the Mrs on the phone. Did it about 4 months ago when I came home 1st...took me 10 mins and that was with music playing and also being careful not to mess up my carbon fiber leather with all the prying of the panels loose. Otherwise pretty easy.

Next mod for me: Dinan Performance ECU upgrade! Unlimited speedo baby! HP improvement with my Esseinnman probably...Yeah!

Keep your head down and stay out of the Life Skills shop okay!

I ordered for you...

Received the switch today and installed it!! Perfect and works as advertised. Thanks for the help with the switch ... I called around 5 dealers to find out the possibility of ordering the switch. Each one started talking about software this and reprogram that. Then, a couple vendors offered to get me the switch for nearly three times as much as dealer list.

Thanks again for the help and I'll post pics when I get time.

I might be the first E90 LCI in the states w/a LCI switch.

Is it also possible to buy the 08 switch and just exchange the rear fog light button from that switch onto my 09 switch that is currently installed in the car. They pretty much look identical. Thanks.

Why don't you buy the 09 switch? My 08 is currently at the dealer and they replace it by the 09 w/foglight.

I would buy the 09 switch if I could find a place to order it from in the USA. I called a few local places and they can't get it for some odd reason. Any suggestions?

That is a good Idea ... Someone should try this and submit the results here. There seem to be several 08 switches available.

Anyone here know how to get hold of a 09 LCI with the rear fogs? I stopped by a French dealer on my last business trip and they wanted 100 euros for it! Maybe its cheaper in Germany?

Where can these switches be ordered? And what does the rain sensor have to do with the light switch? I just want the rear fog light switch. And yes, my car has the rain-sensor. Thx.

On the first page, a post (which I read before I posted) stated:

"BTW they say in Europe the left part controls the adjustment of the HID head lights. Will let you know if its true when I install it."

My question was and is, what does the HID adjustment mean? Within this thread, which post number answers this question?
