Fun Exhaust Surprise

I'm coming up on a year of ownership, and my car has started making some crazy rattling sounds coming from the rear. Finally got it up in the air to investigate and this is what I find 🤦‍♂️... Cut all the way through right before the muffler, held together only by the clips seen in the picture. Fingers crossed the guys at my local muffler shop can weld this back together!

Customer states...

Why anyone would do this is the real question...and worm clamps? Yikes.

Should be an easy fix for any competent muffler shop. Or you know, the perfect excuse to upgrade

I was definitely looking at some valved exhausts the other day! But the shop said he could fix it got less than $100 for the one side. Figured I might as well just have him fix it, that way if I do get another exhaust I could sell this one to someone who needs a cheap exhaust.
