Need to find a welder - M-Performance Exhaust cracks (Chicagoland?)
Need to find a welder that is capable of welding inconel to the exhaust muffler and has previous experience with inconel.
The problem is that the material is so thin that an inexperienced welder can potentially start chasing the weld. I have the rods and they are Ni-625 0.045" x 36" for a TIG machine. Previous thread made by surewin for a welder in california: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1207897 Preferably want to find someone local in the Chicagoland area so I don't have to pay for heavy shipping charges. Thanks in advance! |

First drill holes at the end of all cracks to stop the crack from running.

Talk to Alex Roy at Performance Eurowerks in Buffalo Grove. He has a contact that can easily weld inconel.

It's not so easy to find a welder nowadays because this is not a so popular job. I am a welder, and I am too busy always because people can't find other welders. I think it's not so hard to weld so if you really need to weld something maybe you could buy or even rent a weld and to weld whatever you need. Also, you must check a guide before where you will find all the necessary information about the welding process. So if you are interested make sure you check Pro Welder Guide, in order to get all the necessary information.

Still looking for a welder? I'm located in Chicago and I have my own TIG machine. I used to weld repair jet engine turbine nozzles out of inconel and other high nickels so I'm confident performing a repair like this.
