engine dying

Engine is going into limp mode, dies, and gives out an "increase emissions" message. I try to restart it and it sounds like its running rough, eventually starts sounding normal with limp mode still activated. It keeps shutting off so i cant even bring it to my shop. I have no more warranty so it seems im pretty fucked, but does anyone have a rough idea what it could be? Trying to prepare for the worst.

If it's shutting off it's probably not a throttle actuator - sounds like a bad crank sensor to me.

Stalling is likely an idle control valve issue. Codes are needed to know for sure though.

Im going to have to get it towed to the shop later today to pull the codes, just wondering someone out there experienced this problem. Its not throttle actuators as they are new. I'll ask the shop to check the crank sensor, thanks mike.

My shop couldnt find a definite solution even dealing with the tech info from autologic. They did reset the ecu adaptations and it drives really good now and better than it did before these problems manifested. No limp mode or engine stalls on the way home. I do have a persistent error code for the map sensor (i had it for last two times i pulled codes after going into limp mode), which they ordered one just in case it happens again. Here are the error codes for people wondering-
CDB7 (Had edc coded out)
27AB- charge plausibility, diagnosis hot - bank 2
27AA- charge plausibility, diagnosis hot - bank 1
2738- charge plausibility, diagnosis, cold-start strategy, bank 2
2B0D- idle actuator monitoring, bank 1
2714- intake-manifold pressure sensor
2B29- moment manager monitoring

Well its been over a month since i replaced the map sensor and it ran fine. Until last week i got the same symptoms. I pulled the codes today and i got the same error codes as before. I changed the idle control valve and the map sensor already and i am lost on what to do.

No warranty and i trust my shop more than the dealers near me. I had bad experience with some of them. Guessing the problem or not even installing parts correctly.

Have the same problem for almost 1,5 yaers

Also replaced the map, after replacing the idle actuator and the sensor on it, didnt help

My dealer suggested to change one of the lambda sensors, but I can not really understand the link between them...

Im getting a smoke test done this friday thinking it could be vacuum leak within the system. Thinking a leak could cause it go lean, I'll give you a heads up. Thats weird considering the dealer should know that there is a specific code for a bad lambda sensor.

I'm betting it's the ICV, I just changed mine out. Turned out it was something else. Checking if my shop still has the old one.

Smoke test is a good idea. I think I will end with it too.
I have heard that after each removal of the intake plenum we have to change those eight fasteners holding it within throttle bodies. I have removed it three times already. May be this gives that leak...

Concerning the lambda, there may be some link between them, they both work on controlling the fuel/air mixture.

Please let us know the results you will be given
