ZCP vs 6MT
When buying or selling an e9x I'm curious to know what everyone would put more "weight" or "stock" into? Which is more valuable?
Like, if everything was the similar between two similarly spec'd cars, which would you think is inherently more valuable - the one with ZCP or 6MT? ZCP is highly desirable, but 6MT is more rare. Thoughts? |

$$$ value as in what is financially worth more?
Or which is more valuable to the soul? Because, I mean, 6MT. Duh. |

NA V8 plus 6MT just go hand-in-hand. There will never be another M3 like this!
ZCP is certainly a top priority, but far from a deal breaker on our generation M3. Comp pack is far more significant on the f8x platform. Now that the tech is getting dated, I think many are seeking out models without iDrive. Last, CF roofs or slick tops over a sunroof.

Not sure why you'd want to give ZCP as much significance as to a stick car, Right now in the used car segment, it seems like the purists are snagging up sticks whether it be a Miata, 911, M3 etc etc. I already own two sticks and after driving both the DCT and stick M3, I opted for the ZCP DCT and find it better for this kind of car, but thats my opinion..

How the hell are these two things remotely comparable?

The manual transmission in this car kinda sucks (the stock interface with the driver sucks), and it's much slower, and blah blah blah, but I've got to have it for street driving. I tell myself that if it was purely a track car, I'd want a flappy paddle setup if the car had the acceleration of an 11sec or lower quarter mile...But damn being able to screw up your shifting just makes not screwing it all up seem so much more satisfying!
But yea seems odd as hell to compare these featurws. |

6MT without a doubt. Adds immeasurably to the enjoyment of driving the car.

My next car will be auto or DCT or PDK and AWD. Faster, puts the power down better, easier to drive in rain and snow. In the past, I was willing to work harder for better performance by driving manual RWD cars, but these days they offer worse performance.
My 08M3 is 6MT, but I’d be just as happy or happier with a DCT. |
