I don’t like being that close to capacity like you said, prefer the brakes and payloads of a bigger truck for that size. The difference maker for me on 20 vs 24 would be if the 24 lets me keep from having to use the bed and the 20 didn’t. Hate loading/unloading the bed multiple times over the course of a weekend.
I've learned to pack light. I typically bring 4 gas cans, a set of extra wheels (sometimes), tool box, jack with stands and 2 plastic totes with stuff. The biggest pain are the race ramps.

If I go back to an enclosed (good chance), I'm going to buy a 30 gal fuel caddy, modify a dolly to hold/store 4 tires, and then another dolly for the other boxes/stuff. Should be easy on/off.

You're front end needs Grip!!! And please take note at the setup's below. That's what you need on you're car....if you are chasing fast lap times... if not ...run no aero anywhere!
Right now, still playing around with aero. Just wanted to experiment with something low cost first. In the next month or two, I'm going to try and make my own CF splitter. Should be fun! Worst case, I end up with another plywood splitter.

Try pulling a 48 footer! First corner I was up on the side walk and almost toke out the stop sign! Not that I would have known other than looking in the mirrors. After that it was a piece of cake.

Not yet. There are quite a few changes and I would like to give them some time to get the bugs out. Plus I would like to see the "Limited" leather seats in person.
The truck in the picture is a 2017 with 25,000 miles on it. Great truck! That was the first time I had to use more than half throttle going up a grade.

Would it be detrimental if I installed OE GT4 canards up front without a splitter? Running a replica GTS wing and trackspec hood vents. I removed the front GTS 2-piece splitter because oh too much scraping.

my capacity is 7,200 lbs, so i have to watch the weight of the trailer.
If you end up with an aluminum trailer, you will not have any weight problems with a 7200 lbs towing capacity. An open aluminum trailer is around 1000 lbs. The car is at worst 3600 lbs. At 4600 lbs, you are nowhere near the limit regardless of what tires or tools you bring.

No. At least not that I know of. I believe it is based more on weight and I was no where near ~26,000 lbs.

I saw some of you guys keep 2 set of wheel/tires, one for street, the other for track. Then how do you manage the alignment? I suppose you are not doing alignments every weekends, right?

Street alignment and my track tires aren't wearing in any odd way. The track(s) you go to can affect your wear differently (low grip vs high grip) so your results may vary. I have 5 days on a lower grip track and my NT01s still look new.

Do you have same wheel/tire size on both sets? I thought The alignment will be fairly specific to wheel/tire combination.

Unless you're driving 15k street miles a year on that alignment, I wouldn't worry about it. Camber doesn't wear tires nearly as fast as toe does.

Constantly changing the alignment is going to stretch fasteners and whatever else; it's not exactly like the stuff in your tie rods and eccentrics are designed for adjustment a dozen times a year.

Anybody here have experience with both the APR GT-250 and the Nine Lives Racing "big wang"? Currently aero shopping, and wondering about the Nine Lives wing... their CFD data would seem favorable, but comparing each company's basic wing-in-the-air data (with unknown foil lengths and end plates) seems, meh...

I have had both.

The NLR wing is really nice and you can upgrade to a dual Element or different end plates with out having to purchase a new wing.

Also the uprights I think are nicer.

Did you notice any improvement in lift/drag? The upright design does seem nice and stable.

I may have dm'd you on IG as well, since I found you during my interweb rabbit holing. So, feel free to ignore me there

For best results, sure but I doubt anyone does that. I have the (255/275) staggered M359 for street and 275/35/18 (18 inch ET25) square setup for track. Fairly similar but different diameters.

I don't know how I'm going to pass sound at Laguna with this setup... I can try and close the valves but I bet it'll still be wild. Do people pass with stock muffler + Evolve x-pipe?

Try an add on 45 degree exhaust extension and point it up. Unless they’ve hung a mic over the track you might be ok.

In Nevada, you technically need a special license to tow a trailer with a gross over 10k lbs. You have to get a class B for anything with air brakes or over 26k lbs and this includes motor homes. It’s never enforced out west, but if you get into an accident and you don’t have the right license, you are toast. Not gonna take too much of an injury lawyer to clean up.

Also, never, ever pull into a weigh station unless required by law. I accidentally did pull in once and it was a complete hassle. Technically, you’re towing “in commerce” if you’re towing with a vehicle rated at 10k lbs for gross weight rating. That means any 1-ton truck and maybe now the 3/4 ton trucks. Put “not for hire” on trucks that can be considered “in commerce”. If asked what you’re towing, say “one of my cars”. Don’t say “race car” as they’ll try to say you are a commercial hauler (damn decals) and it gets messy.

Just lift/short shift at the sound booth.
