Yet another bank misfire thread

Hey guys and gals,

I have a 2008 M3 (@ 119k miles) that recently has started going into limp mode and telling me I have increased emissions, primarily when at part throttle and maintaining consistent low RPMs (under ~2k), such as moving in slow traffic. When the engine is cold, it's also a bit laggy/lurchy below 2k RPM under heavy(-er) throttle, and I can usually induce limp mode by flooring it from a low RPM in a higher gear. In either case, turning the car off and back on clears the limp mode. Above 2k RPM, hot or cold, it's silky smooth like the S65 always is.

I assumed it would be plug/injector/coil on an individual cylinder, until I pulled the codes with my BavTech cable and it's on a whole bank:

2B39 -- Misfire with shutdown cylinder 5
2B3A -- Misfire with shutdown cylinder 6
2B3B -- Misfire with shutdown cylinder 7
2B3C -- Misfire with shutdown cylinder 8
2B41 -- Misfire with shutdown of several cylinders
2B57 -- Motor emergency programm activated
2796 -- Motor emergency programm activated
27B0 -- Secondary air system throughput bank 1 (this may be unrelated?)

I replaced the bank 1 throttle valve actuator two years ago after it was causing a limp mode, but it was throwing the right codes for that at the time (2B15, 2B21, 2B25, all specifically for the bank 1 TVA)....so I'd rather not sink so much money into another TVA if that may not be the issue.

Next chance I get I'll swap the pre-cat O2 sensors from left to right and see if the problem moves to bank 1, but does anyone have any other tips/suggestions? Thanks!

Are you catless? Check for exhaust leaks because I had a similar issue basically my exhaust gaskets were toast and had to be replaced.

Nope, stock exhaust other than resonator delete. How difficult is it to replace a midpipe gasket, for example? Surely I wouldn't need to pull the whole exhaust off the car?

I testdrove an 08 for sale at a car mart for fun not long ago. Engine check light was on, some tech connected a Bosch code reader and it had misfire on cylinder 2. They said they would have it fixed in days and would contact me. 2 weeks passed and no news.
