Damn bro, that really sucks. I can't stand the potholes in NY. I just don't understand why they can't make decent roads in the first place which won't break up at the first sign of winter.

This is my biggest fear about driving in NYC. Bloody DOT never fixes any of these man-sized potholes, and in the winter they can be hard to spot. Even so, to break a suspension arm you must have been going pretty quick, or this happened on the highway.

Good luck, and definitely get it towed - you don't want to be driving around with a broken suspension.

If the dealer won't cover it under warranty (which is likely, you can see if your insurance will cover it.

Yeah, it sucks. They really need to concrete-ize all the main roads, like how they built the west-side highway. Unfortunately that would probably be insanely expensive.

I know i'm usually really careful , I was going around 40 mph , I actually was slowing down to get off the belt pkwy , and I didn't see they hole, they didn't even have lights on, so it was hard to avoid it since I couldn't see it was there.

I wanted the thread to be about two rats getting it on in a pothole.

Not really. Good luck OP. You really need to hang a special German rabbits foot from your clown nose-laiden review.

I love the people who think that the warranty should cover this, haha. He hit a pot hole and caused the damage to the car. He will pay out of pocket to fix it or make a comprehensive car insurance claim.

The roads are so sh*tty in NYC right now its not even funny. Its almost impossible to avoid some of these holes and they are huge and very unforgiving. I havent driven my M at all from December - the present and Im almost tempted to keep it off the road until these bs weather is over and the roads are repaired.

Where exactly in queens did this happen?

Ouch. Sorry to hear bro. Brings back memories of me hitting a pothole in my E46 M3 a few years ago. Set off 2 airbags, bent the rim, blew out the tire, and some other stuff.....final bill was like $5500. Insurance & a good dealer covered about 85% of it. I tried to recoup some by going after the DOT but got nothing. They said they didn't see where they were at fault.....oh really? Then who is?! I'm still mad about that Good luck!

Covered under warranty? You think this is a manufacturing defect? Bad luck, but get real!

I think i was going around 55mph, but i had a 200lb passenger and that's the side i hit it on, so that didn't help.

Sorry to hear bro. I've been a casualty of potholes many time with my 335...bent my control arms twice and literally went through about 7 rims and 3 tires. Hate to break it to you, but I highly doubt your warranty will cover it. If the bill isn't too high, just pay out of pocket...but if it is you may just have to go through your insurance.

Until you remove the wheel and put it on a balancer it's hard to tell. It's near impossible to tell just by looking at it.
