Should I move up?

I am an HPDE guy...currently driving a well-sorted 135i(at least for my skill level), but I saw this thing and went "Wow". Someone talk me out of test driving this...

I know about the rod bearing issues with the S65...what else should I be wary of/consider?

Not much else really. Throttle actuators are wear and tear parts but you can get them rebuilt with a lifetime warranty.

Heck, with FCP Euro, you can even get lifetime parts warranty on the rod bearings. Just pay labor to get them changed every 3 yrs or so.

I am a huge fan of the e92 platform. The rod bearings are the primary weak point but it's relatively easy to correct.

The car in link is not the best starting point for a track car. Sunroof and Nav are both things I would avoid. The sunroof adds 50 lbs in the worst place. Plus the CF roof looks so much better.

Good points. I actually am willing to compromise on the comfort features...I don't view this as a dedicated track car, just a car that could go from DD to monster track toy with a swap of wheels/tires and brake pads.

Sunroof also eats into headroom, which you need with a helmet.
