Seems like it might not flow any better than a 2" hose though. I mean that's a pretty gnarly 90 and bottleneck after the inlet. Maybe it's prettier inside looks like it might be a printed part

You bolt it to front frame rail somehow. Looks like a 3D printed part. Meh.

I think you can either connect to a splitter/airdam hose at the front and then run a hose to your backing olates from the back, or you could probably see some good improvement from just leaving the back of it without a hose

may as well get a hose to the inside of the wheel well in that case. probably get some decent airflow just by doing that

I've been calling Cantrell to make more, they are out of stock, and nobody else has any in-stock. If somebody wants to sell me theirs, I'll take it. It's easily the most effective and sensible setup available. I think the Hard Motorsports kit should be reasonable as well. But carbon fiber, and uber expensive duct kits for this car are ridiculous if you ask me.

We run ducts on EVERY car that sees track time. Including our featherweight miatas. It makes a difference. So do backing plates to shield tie-rods.

Here is the custom brake cooling we did for my 987. It's stock size rotors are small, but if you get enough air to them, they work great. The backing plates come from factory with lower trimmed, but we added upper trimming (same as GT3's) so that air gets directly in as well. Porshe is soo good about having cheap, plastic parts for brake cooling, that you can cherry pick from all their various modes. I have rear control arm ducts as well. You would be surprised how much air a simple piece of plastic can direct to your rotors from under the car.

I'm probably going to trim the M3 wheel liner in a similar fashion to facilitate more air flow, instead of the stock vents which direct air to the outside of the wheel well, not toward the brakes. We noticed a huge gain in airflow simply from this mod alone.

For those running PFC08 or PFC11 pads, they are incredible, but they need cooling to really work at their best. Get your rotors to dump more heat.

Also, for those who don't think vane count matters, think again. 72 or 84 vane count rotors are the only things I would run on the front of my GT3, or this heavy ass M3. More vanes, equals more mass, and more ability to dump heat faster. The AP Racing discs I ran on my 997 GT3RS dumped more heat than the exact same size 48 vane PFC discs. Both are perfectly good material, but the "endurance" discs have a higher vane count and are better for DE work. This is why AP/Essex sells an 84 vane disc for the E92 M3. We just upgraded the rotors on the Cayman to PFC 48 vane count, which should work even better than the 24 vane Sebro's I have on it now.

Thanks for sharing. I recently realized that my PFC08 pads were heating up more than I expected and were likely the source of some of my troubles (boiling fluid). I am running Castrol SRF all the time now, using Ti shims, and also switching back to Pagids, trying Pagid blacks for the first time in a few weeks. Supposedly the Pagid pads contain the heat a little better and that was my experience with the Pagid yellows on my last car, we'll see. Running the smaller 355mm BBK and wishing I went 380mm, oh well.

Ducting is happening soon either way!

Bingo. 08's just generate a lot of heat. The pads last forever and you can run them down the backing plate, with a bit more disc wear, compared to say a Pagid RS29, but that's the tradeoff. I run 08's on my cayman, and before my upgraded cooling, the pads would nuke the system, and I would get fade. After cooling, the system works great, and lets me exploit the full potential of the pads and braking system.

i think there is a better value in buying the hard tube portion and piecing together your own kit. i don't think those inlet ducts will fit anywhere on the m3.

they also make a chassis mounted splitter brackets for our cars, but they don't actually fit because of our oil cooler. seems like a good company, but proceed with caution- these may have been designed for a 335.

I think you're right. They have an e90 (non-M) track car that they design parts for

kind of a bummer they don't focus on M cars, they make some good stuff. door pulls/etc., doesn't matter, but for underbody/etc. track stuff, do some research on fitiment.

Bummer, was really hoping this was going to be THE kit to have, thanks for the warning! A piece together kit may be best then.

Anyone thinking about the mode carbon GT4 splitter for the inlet side? LINK

Of course a cheaper non-carbon version of this would be great also.
