So guys, quite the experience i been having. So i been running Gintani's 91 tune for over a year and nothing but smiles and laughs. Then i was itching to try e85.. and was gonna buy a AFD flex fuel kit but gintani convinced me it was perfectly safe and cheaper to just run they're e85 tune, stock everything. So i did, the cranks in the morning on e85 were looooong.... but would always start. Now that im trying to go back to 91 i left about 4 miles left and refilled completely on 91 and flashed on the 91 tune and currently on the pump trying to turn the car on and boom. Wont even turn on now.. n it when it does it sounds like its a cammed car with the worst idle ever. N eventually just dies. I messaged gintani for help on IG and they left me on read, with no response. I called n left voicemails.. no response...If anyone can help or has experienced this and can help it would be appreciated.

You don't need to get it towed, let the car idle for 5 minutes. There is still E85 in the lines that's why it's going into limp mode on the 91 tune. Takes some time for the 91 to flow in. First time I went back from E85 to 91 on gintani tune same thing happened, restarted the car 3-4 times instant limp mode. Freaked me out but I let it idle for a bit and limp mode went away after 5 minutes. Just restart it a few times and let it sit. I contacted gintani as well and they say it's normal to experience that when going from E85 to 91

Question - in the real world, how "big" of a difference does the E85/tune make with no other changes? Particularly in the midrange, 4-6k rpm?

You should not get detonation related timing drop like you can with 91 and probably even 93, should be able to add about 5 degrees of timing, and the oxygenated fuel will also add power. Could be 2% power gain from just the E85 alone like with an AFD or similar flex fuel kit versus maybe 4% gain with E85 and an E85 tune that adds timing, over a 91 or 93 tune. Not big power but the incremental gains add up.
