Idrive screen blacks out
My Idrive screen blacks out for about 10 to 15 seconds, then comes back on without any problems. It seems to do this on warmer sunny days. The last time it happened the Idrive hump was very warm. Possibly overheating?? Anybody have this problem?

Sounds like you may have a dry joint somewhere, loose wire. Those things are hard to find, usually you wait until it finally breaks!

Its under warranty bring it to the dealer. I had a E46 M3 and had navi issues and they replaced the whole unit presto problem fixed.

You need to bring it in and make a record for later warranty purposes. I had mentioned a Navi problem to my CA on an E46 while under warranty. While the problem wasn't resolved then, when the NAVI finally died months out of warranty, BMW fixed it for me as courtesy.
Also, when something else goes funny in a few months, you'll want BMW to have the whole list of skany stuff that doesn't work. |
