I wonder in a few years time whether the 6MT club will be the equivalent to the TVR, (i.e. a product that is no more).

Basically I'm asking the question as to when you reckon BMW will finally drop the manual gearbox offering for M cars?

Bimmerfile asked BMW NA's Martin Birkmann the very same question. He said something like 'we offer a manual gearbox as long as it's getting enough demand'. Doesn't sound that good to me. So, I'm afraid they won't offer many more M cars with an MT. Maybe this generation is even the last M3 with an MT. What do you think, any hope for another M3 having a manual gearbox?

i think after the F-series M3 when some loyalists move to Porsches and since that car will be filled with tech the MT could die in M cars
Even dealers push the Auto trans (money to be made) But to the average Joe when they present the option its as if everyone wants a paddle shift. They told me my resale value would be extremely low since nobody wants an MT on the last three cars I've ordered with MT not just BMW.
So as buyers move to Auto and pushed during ordering process it will become very rare
