Differences between the top shock mounts on EDC vs Non-EDC suspensions
I'm installing back the stock EDC suspension and while going through the part numbers I need, I noticed the top shock mounts have different part numbers:
EDC: Guide support, lower part 33502283518 Guide support, upper part 33502283519 Non-EDC: Guide support, lower part 33506771738 Guide support, upper part 33506771737 The non-EDC cars can use cheaper OEM supplied mounts vs the EDC which are only available from BMW. Looking at some pictures from the ECS website, I noticed the upper piece might only differ in the top nut that's included/fixed in the non-EDC top mount, vs the EDC one. Does anyone knows why on the EDC it doesn't include the nut ?? maybe to easily plug the wiring connector ?? The lower piece looks similar in shape, but maybe no density due to the color difference ??. Here are the pictures again from the ECS Tuning website, here on the EDC one vs non-EDC. Anyone knows what's the real difference ?? maybe the length of the metal spacer is different too ?? Lastly, to put this back together I'm looking for a couple of used parts, and since BMW jacked the prices on these. Here is my WTB thread I just added: https://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1996276

EDC has a larger 14mm diameter shaft vs 12mm non-EDC vs non-M 10mm. Not sure why the 31106769443 nut is separated but it is.

Ohh, ok, didn't know the shaft diameter was different, although I'm assuming it's the part of the shaft that moves up and down within the shock housing, and not the tip where the thread is, right ?, or I'm making the wrong assumption ?
As for the separated nut vs the one tied to the top of the shock mount, as you, no idea why is it separate. Thanks for the info anyway...
