Ohlins Dedicated Track spring size?
Hi All,
I'm looking to upgrade my camber plates from the ones that came with my Ohlins to something else. These things have been clunking since I first bought them and after going back and forth with Ohlins, I decided to just swap them out for something else.. Either Millway or GC.. I'm just unsure about the size of the spring to determine which camber plate I need. I think they're 2.5 but I forget what comes with them and didn't have much luck looking online. Does anyone know? Also, what do you recommend for camber plates? Thanks! -Frank PFA

They should not clunk if installed correctly.

Installed correctly. I've installed several sets.. Ohlins said might just be defective so they told me to send them in but could take 6-8 weeks once they receive it for them to diagnose the issue .. I don't have that time and the noise only happens over big bumps

I think ohlins is 2.5", but in metric terms, I've seen both 63.5mm and 65mm mentioned (which is 2.5-2.55")
Swift makes 65mm, or you can get 2.5" from hyperco and Eibach. As far as camber plates go, I don't think any are 65mm perch, but a few have 2.5" like TMS and GC. Most common is 60mm and 2.25". In case you can't make things perfect, a 65mm spring will absolutely sit fine on a 2.5" perch same as 2.5" spring on 60mm perch or 60mm spring on 2.25" perch.

If I'm not mistaken, the Ohlins Dedicated Track plates are made by Vorshlag which are already the 'quietest' plates out there. Mine are quiet during daily driving but will creak a bit when they're hot after a hard run. The next morning they are quiet again. I've heard GC plates and they rattle all the time.

I worked on a car this weekend that came in with clunking Ohlins (not installed by me) and this thread came to mind.
The top strut nuts in front were loose, the sway bar end link nuts were not tight enough and the kicker, rear shock cup washer was installed upside down (the part in the red attached. I've probably seen several wrong combination of rear shock mounts over the years. But all are points that should be checked before assuming a internal shock issue.

Also the car was set to the lowest sitting but the rear shock length wasn't shorten and combined with rear mounts installed incorrectly, the car drove pretty bad and the rear end felt funny.
All fixed, no more noises, drives soo much smoother and handles like it should.

Figured out the issue.. my endlinks were hitting my control arm. Just ordered new end links. Nothing to do with the coilovers thankfully!
